Chapter 33

Paraluman, nais ko man na bumalik, ngunit ikaw ang nang-iwan.

Today is the deadline. We'll be passing all the activities and assessments that were given to us and how unfortunate of me to be the one who'll pass ours to her.

"Ang ganda ng ginawa mo belle," Azrael said. We shared ideas but eighty percent came from me. "Ikaw mag-papasa 'di ba?"

I nodded.

Isang araw pa kaming nanatili ni Elena roon sa dagat, after that we came back. She don't want to tolerate my absences. We also came back to the hospital to ask about my condition and ang sabi naman ng doctor ay ayos na raw ako. My mental state has affected my physiological state, he said that what we did has somehow helped me to recover much faster.

"Saan mo napulot ang ideas?" We're on our way to the room for our first subject in the afternoon.

"Elena helped me," I hugged the book she gave. Eto ang libangan ko tuwing wala siya sa tabi ko, it helps me divert my attention.

I got confuse when he turned silent. I looked at him, there's a smile on his lips. "We're not together."

"Lagi mo na siyang kasama ah? Napansin namin," his eyes lustre, is he happy for me? "Spill the tea—"

"I have no things to spill," I looked at him, deadpan. "Don't imply something."

"Okay, but. . . help lang?"

"Tingin mo ba wala akong kakayahan na gawin 'to?" I pointed the folder he holds.

He shook. "Sorry. . ." he seems like he's pertaining to something much bigger than the issue.

"Give me time Azy," I'm about to be there, I'm about to heal. "I only need some time."

"Mauuna na 'ko," nakangiti na sabi niya. "I'll give you some space also. . . thank you for calling me Azy," his eyes became teary. "I longed for that."

I let him arrive on our room first. I shifted my gaze to the book, hindi ko mapigilan na mapangiti nang maalala ang nangyari mabili lang namin 'tong libro.

Masyado kasi 'tong sikat ngayon, “It Ends With Us by Coleen Hoover” at malapit ng ma-out of stock.

Tapos ang ginawa niya para lang makuha 'tong libro. . . she told the girl na naka-una sa book na may bago raw na parating at mas malinis 'tsaka mabango.

Si ate naman naniwala. After binitawan ni ate ang book tumakbo na siya sa counter at malaki ang ngiti na binigay sa 'kin ang book.

Nakokonsensya ako kay ate, I can't believe she's like that, kung ganito siya ngayon paano na lang no'ng teenager pa sila nila Mel?

Napailing ako habang nakatingin pa rin sa libro, I stopped for when somebody stood infront of me.

I looked up, it was. . . her, Audelia, her breathings are quite hefty.

Did she ran? Natuod ako nang mapagtanto ang mga nangyayari. This is the first time I got the chance to stare at her, at her eyes, or even to be near to her, for a long time, ever since that day.

I lowered my head to avoid her gaze. Every movement around us turns in a slow pace, as her breathings became loud, it echoes in my ear.

My heart beats in a normal way, it doesn't ache, it's new to me.

"Are you. . ." she can't finish her words. Her eyes became teary, or maybe I hallucinated.

I no longer want to stare, at her eyes, and the air, it smells despair. Gusto kong matawa, tang-ina akala ko wala na, pero eto bumabalik, sumisikip na ulit ang dibdib ko. Ilang saglit lang alam kong may luha na ulit na tutulo.
