CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

ZACK FAULKERSON ILUSTRE'S POINT OF VIEW

Here we are, gathered in the back covered court at Holy Angel University, getting ready for a simple performance. There's an event happening today, and our principal asked us to play. Since it's a request from the principal, we couldn't turn it down.

Being a tenth-grade student is tough. We've just graduated, and there are already so many activities to dive into.

"Hoy Faul! Sino na naman tinititigan mo, ha?" Liam, the guitarist in our group, asked with a mischievous grin.

"Pusta ako may babaeng na naman 'tong nakita."Jefferson, the drummer in our group, teased with a playful grin.

Tumawa ng malakas si Liam, mukhang tuwang-tuwa. "Game ako r'yan! Magkano ba ang pusta?"

"Bente lang!" sagot naman ni Jefferson.

I didn't pay much attention to them. I simply let their conversation fade into the background, because it's true. Even though she lives far from me, she's incredibly beautiful. The way she smiles, laughs, and the sparkle in her eyes—it's like she's inviting me into her world. She looks stunning in her uniform, with her perfectly pointed nose and those captivating eyes. There's an allure about her, a magnetism that draws me in.

She's not flawless, but to me, she's close to perfection.

If only I could step into her world, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment.

"In-love na naman kaibigan niyo mga ugok!" nakisali pa si Eleazar sa pangaasar sa akin.

Bahala sila! Titigil din ang mga ugok na 'to!

As I gazed at her, a helpless smile crept onto my face. She exuded an air of arrogance, yet I couldn't deny my admiration for her. It's not every day I meet someone like her.

One day, you'll be mine too, my girl!

Suddenly, my heart began to race as she slowly turned to face me. Our eyes locked, and I felt a magnetic pull towards her. It was as if my heart wanted to leap out of my chest, and my ears burned red under her gaze.

"Damn." I muttered under my breath.

I was about to smile at her, but she abruptly turned and walked away from the covered court. I tried to follow her path with my eyes as she departed, feeling an inexplicable urge to chase after her. Ignoring the calls of my friends urging me that it's about to start, I sprinted in the direction she had gone.

"Zack! The performance is about to begin," they called out, but I paid them no heed.

"Where are you, woman?" I called out into the air, looking around the court.

Stopping abruptly, I gasped for breath, scanning my surroundings and searching among the passing faces to find her. . . but she was nowhere to be seen. As I gazed at her, a helpless smile crept onto my face.

"Fuck." I muttered under my breath.

As I stood properly there catching my breath, frustration gnawed at me. Where had she disappeared to? I searched frantically, scanning the faces of the crowd passing by, hoping to catch a glimpse of her familiar features. But she seemed to have vanished into thin air.

"Damn it." I muttered to myself, feeling a mix of disappointment and longing.

It felt like I had missed a fleeting chance, and now she was out of reach once again. Gusto ko pa sana siyang hanapin ngunit wala na akong oras. Kailangan kong tumutog. Kailangan kong bumalik dahil panigurado nagkakagulo na sila sa kakahanap sa akin.
