Eliza walked through the front doors of her new school: Swellview Junior High. It was only her third day, but she already knew her way around the building, and she already had a few friends. She was enjoying being at High School, but she couldn't help but miss SWAG. She missed seeing her best friends, dad and boyfriend, even though she'd spend the whole day after school with them.

She walked over to her locker and opened it before her school best friend: Delilah Diaz, came towards her. "Morning!" Delilah greeted with a smile. The two met on Eliza's first day, Delilah was her tour guide and they both clicked instantly, almost as if they've known each other their whole life.

"Morning." Eliza smiled as she put the books she needed in her bag. "How are you this fine morning?" Delilah asked as she played with her jacket sleeve.

"Tired, but otherwise quite good." Eliza nodded. "How about you?"

"Honestly same. Max kept messaging me last night, asking about our English homework." Delilah said and Eliza's eyes widened. "We had English homework?" She asked as she slammed her locked shut.

"Yeah. But don't worry, it was handed out last week, before you got here." Delilah smiled reassuringly and Eliza sighed in relief.

The two girls started walking towards their first class, and they met two of their friends: Millie Campbell and Jackson Miller.

"Good morning." Millie greeted as she held her skateboard in her arm. The brunette stopped by her locker and put her skateboard in it. "Are you excited for Spanish?" She asked the group.

"Wait, you took Spanish?" Delilah asked Jackson and Eliza. Jackson sighed. "No, I took French because my mom told me that it was better than Spanish." He explained and Delilah nodded.

"And I'm fluent in Spanish." Eliza said and Millie looked at her. "You are?" She asked and Eliza laughed softly and nodded.

"Oh, yeah. Your mom is Mexican, right?" Delilah asked and Eliza nodded, not really wanting to correct her about her mom.

"How did I not know this?" Millie asked herself as she closed her locker. "Maybe because you don't pay attention." Jackson said and Millie gasped.

"I do! Just not a lot." She said and Jackson nodded. "Exactly." He said.

"You can't say much." Millie sighed and Delilah sighed. "At least I know Eliza was half Mexican. I've actually been learning a bit of Spanish myself." Jackson smiled proudly.

Eliza looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Mi tortuga es una esponja y usa pantalones arcoíris." Jackson smiled, very proud of himself as Eliza looked at him confused. "You do know what that means? Right?" She asked him and he looked at her confused.

"Yeah, why?" He asked and Eliza shook her head. "No reason." She said before the bell rang and the three girls started walking towards the language classes with a confused Jackson following them. "Why?"

"What did he say?" Millie asked and Eliza couldn't help but laugh. "He said 'my turtle is a sponge and wears rainbow pants." She said and both Millie and Delilah laughed. "I said what? That's not what google translate said!" Jackson defended himself.

"If you're gonna say, say it right." Millie smiled before she leaned over to Eliza. "How do you say SpongeBob SquarePants?"

"Bob Esponja Pantalones Cuadrados?" Eliza asked with a small laugh and Millie smiled. "Yeah! Whatever she said." She said and Delilah rolled her eyes as she held a smile. "Let's go. See you after." She said to the two as they walked into their Spanish class.
