6 months, 6 months since she last saw her daughter and 2 years since she last saw the love of her life.
As she pulled into his apartment parking lot, she felt sudden wave of nerves as she rode up the elevator . What if he didn't forgive her for leaving? What if he didnt..... her thoughts were cut off by the dinging of the elevator and the opening of the metal doors, she made her way off heading to a familiar door knocking lightly not wanting to wake the neighbors. She heard a light "coming" before hearing him unlock the handle of the door. He opened to see the women who overtook his dreams these past two years, he pulled her close into a hug while moving them inside the apartment. He inhaled her scent that reminded him of home, a scent he's missed while she was gone. He pulled back to get a good look at her tired body, that had new scars present.
"Hey" she whispered out just happy to be in the same room as him and their daughter
"Hey" he similarly whispered before pressing a quick kiss to her mouth that became passionate, only pulling away when air was necessary.she felt a yawn come to the surface, before he spoke again.
"How about we go say goodnight to our daughter, than get some much needed sleep ourselves" she happily nodded at his idea before he led her to their daughters bedroom who was snoring lightly in a deep sleep. Ellie went over to kiss her daughters head while whispering "Night sweet pea" in her ear, before leaving with Nick to the bedroom they shared all those years ago. He handed her one of his t shirts that he knew was her favorite, allowing her to change in the bathroom, before she crawled in next to him. He pulled her further into his arms while whispering "I love you, welcome home" in her ear, she looked up at him before kissing him lightly again and whispering "I love you too"against his lips. Before they fell into a blissful sleep in each others arms
The next morning, Ellie awoke to the smell of breakfast being cooked while music was playing in the background, similar to the music that nick used to play in the office. She walked out of the bedroom before seeing a truly beautiful sight in front of her, Nick cooking away while their daughter taste tested everything.
"Morning,sweet pea" ellie spoke looking at her daughter whose eyes brightened at the sight
"майка" she ran to hug her as Ellie picked her up holding her even closer to her chest whispering "обичам те момиченце" over and over again in her ear.
The morning turned into afternoon as the newly reunited family spent the day together watching movies, playing board games, evening painting together. It wasn't until nearly 3 pm when they were cuddled together on the couch napping that Torres took a photo sending it to the Ncis family group chat with the message "look whose home" before falling asleep with both his girls in his arms. Happy for the first time truly in nearly 2 years
