I stood in front of my front door with a trembling hand over the door knob, asking myself wether or not I should open it, or turn around and take Joseph up on his invitation to his house.

I took in a deep breath and turned the knob whilst ignoring my head and listening to my heart. Even if what my heart was saying was just as painful as what my head had to say.

Either way, I walked into the silent house with a heavy heart. Luke wasn't in the living room where I expected him to be, but in the kitchen.

I blinked rapidly as the smell of chocolate overtook my senses, and as I walked into the kitchen, there was Luke with my mothers old apron on and a bowl of extra cake batter in his hands.

He turned swiftly after realizing that I was there, and of course, there was chocolate across his lips and on his pointer finger. Which was what I was guessing he was using instead of a spoon.

I couldn't help but smile.

"Really?" I laughed and leaned against the counter. He smiled in reply and set the bowl down beside me.

"Since you were gone I thought I would take the opportunity to bake your cake." He stood in front of me and held his finger in front of my lips. "Try it."

He grinned a seductive grin as his finger touches my lips, and from looking at Luke's beautiful eyes I grew lost and found myself sucking on his pointer finger, lapping my tongue around the batter until it was fully rid off.

His smile dimmed as I did so, and his eyes lowered. "You're so hot." Was all he said before turning and opening the oven to check the cake.

He took a quick peek at it, and closed it once more.

"Still not ready, but when it is you can't watch when I decorate."

I chuckled. "And why is that?" I asked and watched as he walked past me and into the living room where a new episode of Big Brother was playing on the TV.

I followed and sat next to him on the couch where we would usually have heavy make out sessions upon; I tried to forget those memories.

"Because it has to be a surprise."

I smiled and couldn't keep my eyes off of him, for his lips still had chocolate smeared on them.

I wanted to straddle him and kiss it off whilst sucking on his bottom lip like I always loved to do, but I had to tell Luke and ignore any irrelevant thoughts.

"But anyways, what did you do today?" Luke took a sip of his bud light and turned to look at me after I neglected to reply to him.

"Winnie, did you hear me-" he stopped when he took a deep inhale, a burning smell clearly overtaking his senses as it overtook mine as well.

"Oh heavens no!" Luke squealed in the best imitation of my mother he could do, for she always said that line when she burned something. Which was quite often.

I couldn't help but laugh once again, but returned my face but to serious after realizing what needed to be said.

Should I even say anything? I asked myself mentally.

I once again followed Luke back to the kitchen, and watched as he took out the brown cake. It looked perfect and smelled amazing, a surprising turn out for Luke's usual cooking.

"Perfect." He whispered quietly to himself and set it on top of the counter.

"So as I was saying," he turned and leaned against the counter, crossing his arms afterward. "What did you do today?"
