My Beloved

Oh as the night grows bleak and cold, I shudder and wonder
When will I find myself in your arms, safe and warm with love
Been walking alone, helping others on their way towards goals,
Yet I still cry myself to sleep at night because I'm alone again.

Every day is just the same, wake and game, tell stories to myself,
Hang out with friends who care enough to check up on my health,
Stumbling over myself just to try and understand how I work,
Drifting between fog and storms that rage inside my own mind!

I've sought your light and warmth when the sun rises and falls,
Toughed my greatest storm yet without knowing if it would pass,
All just to know if I could ever see you smile at me with the love
Beloved, the love that I knew we both could drown each other in

Flames lick at my scarred heart, water floods my eyes each day,
Untold horrors have plagued my mind as I fight to stand firm
Just to see if you were behind the lines of doubts and fears
Pursuing any glimpse of what I saw I could be and have in life.

My beloved, my dearest love, let me be your anchor when faint,
Your stalwart shield when weak, your knight defending when it hurts
'Cause I know what it's like to feel isolated and alone without hope,
So let me be your gentle guardian, your devoted friend, your lover.

Resplendent shall be the dawn when I find you and see your smile,
Cherished the sunset as we dance, talk, and rest our vessels, dear
Never failing each day to choose, to remember what we desire.
Vulnerable I will be, when we hold each other, until our last days.
