Trigger Warning: Mentions of rape, kidnapping, and murder
.
Usually, I make sure I have the last word, but I knew if I had stopped her, our talk would have ended in an argument. I also didn't think there was much else that needed to be said, and I think she felt the same. She made her point very clearly, and I denied it very clearly. She revealed what she needed to, and I accepted it despite my better judgment. Like I had said earlier, she wouldn't go this far for a prank. I'm not one to just believe anything and everything; I use logic, and unfortunately it's only logical that she wouldn't go this far. As completely unbelievable as her words were, I full heartedly believe her. Heather wouldn't waste her time and energy with an elaborate story like this.
Especially one that connects with Elsa. She's never spoken to Elsa. Neither has Chloe. I know Chloe has made comments in front of Elsa–oh trust me, I remember that–but I don't think they've actually had a conversation. So why go this far? What is the reason? They're not even in the same grade. I guess one reason could be revenge since Hans was friends with them, or at least friends with Chloe, but surely Chloe isn't this desperate.
And if it was true revenge, they'd go after Flynn for kidnapping Hans...which is just so hard to believe. Even though I do believe, I'm still having a hard time processing having all of it, but I think that detail is the most crazy. Flynn committing a crime as big as kidnapping? He's too self-absorbed for something so serious. There's no way he can look away from his hand mirror long enough to get anything done.
Once Heather was out of sight, leaving the stadium completely, I took my phone out. I sigh in relief when I saw that Hiccup was still on the phone and say: "She's gone. You can come back up here now."
"Alright, I'm coming." He says back.
I hang up to save my phone battery and watch as Hiccup gets up from his seat and makes his way back to me. While he did this, I stayed completely still as I replayed everything Heather had said to me, still in utter disbelief.
When Hiccup makes it to me, he sits down and blows out a breath. "Okay, well...that was...I don't even have the words. Such utter bologna."
That took me off guard. "Wait, you don't believe her?"
Now Hiccup looks surprised. "Of course not. You do?"
I sigh as I rest my head back against the seat. "Yeah. I wish I didn't, but she wouldn't lie about this." I had to hold back a smile. I was so sure Hiccup would believe her since they're so buddy-buddy. It's nice that he didn't. Very nice.
"So what do we do?" He asks, worriedly. "We can't exactly involve an adult because all they'll do is contact the police. And for you and I, our guardians are the police. They'd lock up Heather, Flynn, and Eret so quickly. We have to help them somehow. And I know what you're going to say--"
"That they're criminals and we should report them?" I suggest and he nods.
"Exactly." He says, a hard look in his eyes. "Look, I know you don't care for Heather, but I know you care for Flynn and even Eret a little bit. We've got to help them get out of there."
"And how do you expect us to do that?" I ask him, genuinely but also mockingly. It's not as easy as he thinks it is. This is some real illegal, criminal shit. "Plus, it didn't sound like she was asking for help out of there. We can only do that if it's something they want, Hiccup." I reason with him. "They got mixed up with it because it was their choice to do so."
"Not if it meant they were doing it for someone else," Hiccup says with the shake of his head. "Heather got caught and is now in it for not only her brother's sake but also for hers. As well as Eret's now that they're dating. People sacrifice what they can for their loved ones. Including their life--"
