It was Amy's first day back at home since the fire and she was sat on the sofa whilst Rory played on the floor with the kids.
A couple of minutes later Rory looked at her and noticed she had hold of one of the kids toys, "Amy, do you want to play?"
She looked at him and shook her head, "n..no"
He stood up and sat next to her, "that's the first word you've said since the accident, I'm so proud of you" he smiled and kissed her cheek, "come on, come and play with us".
"No" she pushed him until he was off the sofa and lay down on it, facing the other way, Rory watching her, sighing, before continuing to play with the children.
After a while Bethany stood up and went over to Amy, "mummy?". She waited and watched as Amy turned around to look at her before holding one of her toys out towards Amy, "please come and play mummy".
Amy looked at the toy and took it from Bethany, looking at Rory afterwards.
"It's okay Amy, you can do this". He went over to her and sat her up, helping her down onto the floor next to the kids.
Amy took hold of his hand and slowly started to play with the children, smiling slightly at Rory, who smiled back.
