"what are you two doing up here."
a woman dressed in blue scrubs and white shoes stood at the door.
we both shifted awake and stood up.
"took you long enough" and that was that, he was gone.
i laughed awkwardly and muttered a small 'thank you' before leaving her there and made my way to my hospital room.
"indie honey, where have you been?"
"dad, long story, i'll tell you about it later."
"the doctors say, as long as you didn't have any seizures last night, you are free to go home."
"i didn't. nothing happened. so i guess we can go home then.
his face looked of happiness and sadness all rolled into one.
"dad i'm fine, i really am."
"i'm glad, let me talk to the doctors, get your medicine and then we can go home."
