i finished giving out all the books.

all but one.

as i approached the last door i knew who i'd soon encounter.

a click echoed signaling the opening of the door.

"you again, why are you here?"

"i volunteer here now."

"why would you want to do that?" he said tying up his laces. i was now curious on where he'd head off to.

"well i thought i'd be good for me."

he scoffed and looked me in the eyes till i started to squirm.

"don't tell me your one of those people."

"what people?"

"those people that have nothing better to do with their lives, so they hang around a bunch of sick people to make themselves feel useful."

he was right in a way, but i wouldn't have explained it like that.

instead of replying i stayed silent which turned out to be the wrong decision.

"i'm right, aren't i. blue's a loner."

"hey, stop. i'm fine." i chucked the book at him and left.

on second thought.

maybe this whole volunteer thing wasn't a good idea.
