"do you trust me now?"

"not quite yet."

"but we're friends now aren't we?"

"yes we are. now let's cut to the chase. where are you taking me?"

"here."

it was ten o'clock at night and i was baffled at why we were at the park.

"the park?"

"yes the park."

dallas was wearing the leather jacket i got him and had a backpack strapped over his back which he slowly took off.

he took out two jars and handed one to me. i gave him a puzzled look and he just smiled.

"now i'm really unsure."

"we, my friend, are catching fireflies."

i giggled and stared at him.

"what?"

"this is just so.."

"so what.."

"normal. i'm actually not scared and excited to do this."

"i'm in a normal kind of mood."

for some odd reason dallas had been smiling all day. annoying, mad, idiotic dallas was happy. and i have to admit, the smile was contagious.

we opened our jars and started capturing fireflies. their lights blinking on and off in the night sky. i was now grateful that it barely snowed in san diego.

"i can't believe dallas bloom is in a happy mood."

"there's a lot to be happy about."

"will i get to know why?"

"in a bit."

i caught eight flierflies, it illuminating the park.

i sat down on the grass, snapping a picture of the jar as it lit up.

i felt a presence sit next to me and focused my eyes up, seeing dallas sitting his jar next to mine.

the moon hovered over us, the stars twinkled and the breeze blew.

"you see that?" i said.

"what?"

"earths beauty." i looked ahead in awe.

he picked up a blue violet and scooted closer to me, putting it in my ear.

"doesn't compare to your beauty."

and with that he leaned over, kissing me on the lips.

my first kiss.
