i walked in to his room that morning itching to ask him a question.

"i already told you, the answers no."

"i'm not here about that."

"then why are you here?"

"i'm here because christmas is in two days."

"so?"

"your spending it at my house of course."

"listen, i've come to the decision that i can't allow you to do all that stuff for me."

"stop being a scrooge and be at my house at seven tomorrow."

"but that's christmas eve."

"i know."

"blue, i can't come."

"yes you can."

"besides i can't afford gifts."

"your presence is a gift non the less, see you tomorrow."

i dashed out of his room leaving no time to protest.

i went to find nancy but before that i ran into doctor collins.

"excuse me dr.collins."

he looked up from his clipboard and gave me a smile.

"oh hi indigo, you've been doing a lovely job around here."

"thank you but i have something to ask you."

"what is it?"

"do you know about dallas bloom's condition?"

he looked down at me sympathetically and nodded.

"yes i do."

"well, do you think i could be tested?"

"indi-"

"i just want to see if i'm a match, that's all."

he contemplated for a moment and sighed.

"very well. how's the 26th for you."

"perfect."

he turned to walk away but my voice stopped him.

"and doctor, patient confidentiality applies to this right?"

"yes of course."

what dallas didn't know certainly wouldn't hurt him, it might in fact help him.
