Chapter 52

The fear in my heart resonated in the script. Brie noticed it first.

"What happened?"

 I told her about Randy's ultimatum. It scared me.

"Wait, doesn't he have to run that past Paul?"

"Yes, he does. I know how this will all go. He'll tell Paul to issue the ultimatum then I'll have to do it."

"That sucks. What are you going to do?"

"I've got to tell Colby. I don't have a choice."

"That you have to do. We're here for you, Girl."

I smiled faintly.

"I'm just scared. I can't be alone and jobless. I need this."

"I know you do."

I started to cry. Bryan came up to us.

"What's wrong, Lindsay?"

I told him about the ultimatum.

"That's bullshit."

"I can't face Jon or Joe."

In their locker room, Jon talks in person to Colby.

"Do me a favor, Mox."

"What?"

"No matter what happens with this storyline, do not hate Lindsay. She doesn't know what's going on and I hate keeping it from her."

"What's the problem?"

Colby explained the situation to Jon as Joe entered the room.

"What's going on and why is Lindsay crying?"

Colby sighed.

"I'm going to be gone for two weeks starting once I leave the building. Lindsay has an ultimatum from Randy saying if I'm not back two weeks from tonight, she has to marry him or get fired."

"Oh God."

"Paul is going to tell her that later tonight. She agrees to it. I come to crash the wedding as my return."

Joe looks at Colby.

"You realize you're officially insane. How could you let your pregnant girlfriend marry some psycho?"

"This is where I need Jon."

Jon looks at him.

"Oh hell no! Do NOT get me in this mess. I have enough mess right now with Clarissa."

"I just need you to give her this for me."

He hands Jon an envelope.

"So she knows she's not ever going to be alone again."

Slapping his hand over his face, Jon sighs.

"I'm doing this for Lindsay."

"Thank you."

Colby puts his fist in the middle.

"Til I return," Colby says.

"Believe in the Shield." Jon says.

He walked away from them as Jon and Joe went to find Lindsay. They go to the office as the camera shows Colby walking out of the arena. Lindsay watches, in tears. Paul comes in before they arrive.

"I just saw him leave. It's for the best." Paul says.

"He'll be back."

"Have you thought of what would happen if he didn't?"
