I was in the middle of straightening up my things in the basement. Everyone had went back upstairs to get ready for bed since they were leaving early in the morning with August.

I'm staying a little later so I can see my mom and Avy before I leave. I grabbed my phone and put it in my pocket before closing the case I put my cameras in. A few seconds later I heard the door open and someone walked down the stairs.

I looked to see August making his way to me. He stood right next to me and just stared down at me. I sighed and looked up at him.

"What is it?"

"Did it make you think of me?"

I bit the inside of my cheek. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't do dat. You know what I'm talkin' bout."

I sighed. "Yea it did. That's why I don't listen to it."

"I'm sorry."

I shrugged. "For what? It's not your fault you had to leave."

"But still Ion like knowing you sad, especially because of me."

I continued to put my things away. "I'm fine now. That was years ago."

He nodded. "But you know I'm hea now right? I ain't goin' nowhea'."

I looked at him and shook my head. "You keep telling me that but for some reason I still can't believe it's true."

He furrowed his eyebrows. "You doubt me?"

I sighed. "It's not you that I doubt you August but we can't control everything. Just like we couldn't control the last time."

"Shit different now. The only way we gon separate is if one of us chooses too and I'm not gon eva' choose dat."

"Good. Me either."

"You know I love you so much Skye."

I slightly smiled. "I love you too Ant."

A smile slowly crept onto his face causing me to furrow my eyebrows.

"What?"

"You called me Ant. I ain't hea' dat in a while."

"Oh it slipped out."

"Why you say it like it's a bad thing? You call me that all the time."

I shrugged. "Well ever since Ashley started calling you that I've stopped. It wasn't special anymore now that other people say it too."

"Aves call me by my middle name too."

I stale faced him. "My daughter doesn't count."

"Ashley don't call me dat. After she did at the game I put ha in ha place so she ain't gon do it nomo."

"Ok."

After I finished putting everything away I turned back to him and asked him what I've been wanting to know for a couple days now.

"August why did you walk out like you did the other day?"

He looked up from the floor and at me. "It ain't important."

"If it isn't important why can't I know? I know something was on your mind."

He sighed. "Because it's not relevant."
