Chapter 4

PETER'S POV:

I turn my back on her for two seconds and she runs away again.

Can't she see we mean her no harm?

For Christ's Sake, I even healed the cut on her head!

Why does she think I'm such a monster? Oh, wait. I am.

My thoughts are interrupted by Malik's screams,

"Pan! Pan! Come quick!"

"What is it Malik? Have you found her?"

"Yes, but its worse!" Malik squeaks.

"Has she been hurt?"

"Worser"

"Bloody hell, just tell me already! "I shout.

"Kat fell into a bush a Dreamshade!"

My legs carry me before my mind processes what Malik has said.

In the blink of an eye I'm kneeling by Kat's body.

She looks dead, but the occasional rise of her chest proves otherwise.

"What should we do?" Thomas asks

"Let her die, I suppose" Felix slyly added.

"Everyone leave. Now!" I demanded.

With that, all the boys went scurrying off and I was left with Kat, her head cradled in my lap.

I flashed us to the hidden waterfall and carefully set Kat down by a rock.

I filled my canteen up with the magical water and brought it over to her.

I hesitated before pouring the water down her throat.

"If she drinks this, she can never leave."

I looked down at her limp body and noticed the poison spreading through her small arms.

"Perfect" I say aloud as I tip the canteen full of water into her mouth.

Within minutes I can see life returning to her body.

Slowly, her hands twitch and her breathing becomes normal again

I look down at her pale face and am relieved when her eyelids begin flickering open.

She awakes with a start and jumps off my lap.

"W-what happened? " she asks examining her arm.

I stand up and brush the dirt of my pants,

"You clumsy, stupid girl! I told you you knew nothing of Neverland! You honestly thought you could run away and be perfectly fine? Well I guess you never thought you'd fall into Dreamshade! Did you?"

"D-dreamshade?" she stutters, "Is that why I passed out?"

"It is a poison that can kill within minutes at even the slightest nick. And you, clumsy girl, managed to fall into an entire bush of it!"

She stood up, regaining full strength and walked closer to me,

"And you... used your magic to save me?"

"Not exactly, " I said with a grin.

I walked over to the waterfall and ran my hand through the stream.

"This water is what keeps Neverland young. Makes time frozen. It also has healing properties. The only type that can cure Dreamshade."

"So that's what saved me?"
