Chapter 11

PETER'S POV:

I was sitting peacefully in my thinking tree when I felt a strong vibration that practically took my breath away.
Someone on the island had just used magic.
And on top of the feeling, I heard a pained scream that was carried through the breeze.

It was Kat. It had to be.
She was the only one who could use magic.
And she had just lost her brother.

But it was her own fault!
"I warned her didn't I?" I reassured myself, "I specifically told her what would happen if she didn't listen to me! It's her own fault."

In the midst of my thought process, I felt another strong blow.
This one even stronger.

Was it Kat this time?
I hadn't taught her how to use that force of magic yet.
How could it possibly be her?

Then I heard the worried shouts of the Lost Boys.

"Kat! No!"
"Stop it Kat! It's not his fault!"
"What are you doing? He's just a kid!"
"Pan! Pan come help!"

I jumped out of the tree and flashed to where the commotion was coming from.

There were the Lost Boys surrounding what looked like a force field.
All of them clawing at it and screaming.
There were two people inside but I couldn't make out who.
Well, one had to be Kat, but who was the other?

"What's the bloody hell is going on here?" I shouted.
"It's Kat!" Felix responded, "She's trying to kill Jack!"
"Move!" I ordered.

The boys cleared the way just in time for me to see Kat stabbing Jack in the chest.

From there on, everything happened in slow motion.

Kat dug her blade in deeper and I heard the muffled cry of Jack as he fell to the floor.
The Boys stood there in shock, unmoving. Their mouths hanging open.
I felt the force field around Kat and Jack drop and she also just stood there.
After some time, she slowly turned around.

Her eyes seering a bright violet color with the edges burning red.
Her nostrils flaring and her hair messy around her face.
Her hand caked in blood, and her skin pale white.
The Boys couldn't see it, but I could.
A bright yellow glow cascading down her body and surrounding her face.

She had done it.
Some how. On her own.
She had mastered her powers.
She was now fully transformed, and she had never looked more beautiful.

Liam pushed past Kat and ran to the side of Jack, who was long gone.

"How could you!" He yelled at Kat.
"He did nothing!"

"He did EVERYTHING! " Kat replied.
