Chapter 5

KATS POV:

Peter walked out of the tent like lightening.

I just stood there, mindlessly holding the sword.
It was heavier than I'd ever expected a sword to be.
The handle was beautifully decorated with brown and blue swirls and hints of green tossed it.
My eyes wondered up the hilt to the actual blade itself.
Extremely sharp, if it wasn't obvious enough.

I looked at my reflection and noticed something diffrent about myself. I was thinner than usual, my skin was tanner, my hair lighter and my eyes.... no.... they looked almost...... violet! It seemed like the blue had faded and now I was left with an almost purple color.
"Maybe I should say something to Peter," I thought, "It could be an after effect of the Dreamshade."

Peter.

Even saying his name brought back a flood of memories I wished I could forget.
I'm such an idiot!
I cant believe I kissed him!
Like I actually thought that would surprise him?
He probably gets more than just a kiss from all the girls he finds here...

Though, I had to admit, I liked it.
I didn't expect to feel anything but, when our mouths met... I did.

"Are you coming? " Peter asked sarcastically as he peeked back in the tent, disturbing my train of thought.
"Yeah" I said as I followed him out.

We walked past a group of Lost Boys who were sitting in a circle by the unlit fire. They all seemed to whisper as I passed, which only made me walk faster.

Finally we reached a clearing in the forest where Peter turned around and looked at me.

"First thing you need to know about fighting is never let your opponent get the upper hand."

Peter dashed towards me with his sword pointed forward and I instinctively blocked it.

"You're better than I thought you'd be" he added with a twitch of his eyebrow.

I was amazed at my own skill and gazed down at my hands as if I was just truly noticing their abilities for the first time.

"Second thing," Peter said as he grabbed my waist and pinned me to a tree.
I was surprised by it and dropped my sword at my feet.
Peter got dangerously close to me and whispered into my ear
"Never let your opponent distract you".
Then he laughed and backed away.

I took a moment to compose myself before picking up my sword and launching it at him.
It was my turn to shock him.

To my disappointment, he avoided me with ease and swung back, scrapping my arm slightly.

"Third thing, don't let your emotions over power your decisions. They will limit you."

He strode back over to me and held his sword out, as did I.

"You're holding it wrong," he said.
Then he moved behind me, grabbing my arms and positioning them in a way that felt more natural.

"See," he said, his arms still around me, "You can move better when you're other arm is free."

"How can I do anything with you so close?" I whispered back to him with a smile.

"Oh" he smirked, "Does this bother you?"

I quickly spun around and heard the hard cling of our swords.
"Not at all" I grinned.

We continued like this for hours.
Fighting, flirting, fighting, laughing.
Until it was dark and we could no longer feel our arms.

Panting, I leaned against a tree.
"You know, I think I'm starting to warm up to you, Peter Pan."

"Well I would hope so. I'm actually quite the charmer"
I giggled, "No need to be so cocky"
