The Butterfly
-In a land far from home
It is written in the ancient tomes
That one day the maiden would be freed
And a handsome man would do the deed
-The maiden waited behind her wall
Wishing and waiting for it to fall
Then one day her champion appeared
And he swore to save her from this fear
-He began to work, day and night
For he wished to deliver her from her plight
He broke down the wall, bit by bit
All the while calming her fits
-The maiden watched her toil
As he shone in the sun like he had been dipped in oil
She prepared herself for a world of pain
But she knew that it would be worth the gain
-The wall finally gone, the girl felt fear
And out of her eyes dropped a few small tears
She was scared to move on, but didn't wish to stay
For she knew she had to leave, or she would pay
-The man smiled as he wiped away her tears
And did what he did best, and calmed her fears
Hugging her softly, he whispered in her ear
"Darling there's nothing to fear, for I am here."
-The girl hugged him back, and gave him a kiss
For she finally knew her feelings were not amiss
One chapter ended, another begun
As they walked hand in hand toward the setting sun
