Joker leant back against the wall of the fifth warehouse after a thorough examination

He rubbed his hands over his face exasperatedly

"You okay?" AJ asked handing him a coffee, straight black.

"How did you-" Jon began

"Avery." AJ stated Jon nodded and gladly accepted the coffee

"You think we're gonna find her?" Asked AJ looking out at the sunset

Jon shrugged

"Nothing is promised. But if she dies, so do I," he promised

"You really love her huh?" AJ asked taking a sip of his latte

"I never believed in love after my mom and dad, but as soon as she walked into my life, it's like she was what was missing the whole time. I can't live without her. I need her. And I'll be damned if i let anyone take her from me." Jon finished

AJ sat, mouth agape

"I'm sorry," he apologized

Jon looked at her

"What?" He asked

"I'm sorry I thought you were a bad guy and tried to keep you away from her," he said

Jon smirked

"Don't worry about her, I know she's too good for me but I can't help how I feel about her." Jon said

AJ smiled knowing Avery was safe with Jon

He had spoken to their parents yesterday, he has never seen his dad cry before.

They would be down as soon as possible

Meanwhile

Avery sat staring at her bracelet, they had endlessly tortured her with the damn collar around her neck.

She sighed sadly.

Was Joker and Batman looking for her?

She couldn't think straight anymore, she had one more day and she couldn't do anything else. The collar cut off her powers and she was too weak to fight

"What happens inside your brain?" Riddler asked

He had been observing her the last hour or so

"It's where my demons hide," she said
