✦02✦ Of anime and good food

Michiyo was hugging her pillow as close as possible as tears started to stream. The feeling was very hard to describe, she never felt this way before. How did feelings of sympathy occur through her that easily? She couldn't believe tears could be drawn out that easily. 

"Michiyo-nee, please don't cry, you'll make me cry too." Nico was already a step ahead of her, tears were welling and flowing from his left eye. Nico was sniffling but he still handed her a box of tissues for her tears. 

"Why is it that you cry ugly but Michiyo cries beautifully?" Rock asked Nico. 

"But isn't it because Michiyo-nee is already pretty?" Nico answered, tears and snot coming at the same time. 

"Nico, wipe your snot away..." Uno said like a Mother.

Rock opened a bag of potato chips and he did something that shocked the other three male inmates; offer his food before he took the first taste. "Michiyo, don't be sad, have some chips."

"Hm." Michiyo took a chip out of the packet and popped it into her mouth, but she was still crying. 

Rock smiled but then he felt more than a pair of eyes staring hard at him. He looked to his right to see Jyugo and Uno looking at him like he's some sort of hypocrite. "What?" 

"This is the first time I ever see you offer food before taking the first bite." The last time Rock offered food to Jyugo, the younger boy saw how Rock made a rather gluttonous bite out of it before offering. 

"You always take a huge bite before giving us anything. Oh, but when it's Michi, you're happy to share like a proper human." Uno's words would have made Rock get into a verbal bout with him but the 19 year old wasn't up for it tonight.

"Anything to see little Michiyo smiling again!" Rock answered. 

"I thought that when someone is crying the best option is ice-cream." Nico asked, cocking his head like a lost puppy. 

Michiyo stopped crying and she took a deep breath. "That. Was. Awesome." 

You all wondered why the boys didn't react to Michiyo's tears in a hysterical manner, right? It's because these tears were caused by anime. 

Nico looked at Michiyo to see her telling Rock, Jyugo, and Uno how amazing the scenes were and how she had never seen anything like it before. He smiled as he recalled what happened exactly 25 minutes ago while he put episode 2 up for her...

Michiyo was reading a book in peace but a shadow covered the light from above and she looked up to see Nico smiling happily at her. 

"Michiyo-nee, let's watch anime!" 

"Anime?" 

Upon seeing that she doesn't seem to get what anime was, Nico was shocked. "Michiyo-nee, I thought you are Japanese?! How could you not know what anime is?!" 

"Don't make it sound like every Japanese must know what it is!"

"But even I know what anime is..." Jyugo piped in. 

"B-Besides! I'm not fully Japanese..." She looked away rather embarrassed that her half Japanese blood knew nothing about anime. How could she know? She never really had the chance to do anything fun... 

Nico sat down in front of her and he began to explain what anime was. "Anime is the world's best medicine no matter what happens! Had a bad day? Your boyfriend or girlfriend dumped you? You're ill? Or if you're bored of looking at real life people...anime is the best thing ever!"
