Chapter 4; Aftershocks

I can't eat properly. I can't act normal. The air I breathe suffocates me. My body seemed paralized. My system suddenly shut down. Holy Cow! What's happening to me?

The dinner ends and everyone is heading to the living room to plan about the wedding. Halos wala ng tao sa dining area, it's just the three of us. Jana, Blue, and I. I tried to stand but my knees won't cooporate.

" Cous. Tara na. Hinahanap na tayo. " said Blue.

I sighed. Uminom muna ako ng tubig kasi parang nanuyo ang lalamunan ko. How can fate didn't warn me for his come back? Para naman naging ready ako!

" You go ahead Blue. Susunod nalang kami. " Jana said instead.

Tumango lang si Blue at umalis na. Jana faced me. Worried is written all over her face, na parang mas apektado pa siya kaysa sakin.

" I won't ask if your okay cous cause it's pretty obvious. You just can go home if you're not ready to face him. " she said worriedly.

I smiled at her. I appreciate her concerned but it's gonna be so coward for me if I'll do her suggestion.

" It's okay. I'm okay cous. No need to cover me up again from the oldies. I-I can manage. "

" You sure? Your pale a while ago. "

" Am I? "

" Uhuh. Para kang nakakita ng multo. Multong gwapo. " she joked and that makes me laughed.

" But seriously cous, I'm worried at you. "

" I'm okay nga cous! Tara? " Aya ko sa kanya. Pero ang totoo, hindi ako okay. I just said another lie. It's another burden add in my heart box again. At natatakot ako na kapag napuno na, I just might explode anytime.

Then we get up and on our way to the living room. Every step I take makes my heart beats abnormally. I tightly grip my dress and my breathings are heavy. Para akong haharap sa Judgement Day.

At pagdating namin, I could hear the laughs, the happily talks. Everyone is so happy. And like the set in the dining area, nasa harap namin ang angkan ng mga Monterverde at sa hilera ko naman ay ang mga Santillan.

Nasa gitna si Benedict at sa kanan niya ay si Tito Samuel at sa kaliwa niya ay so Tita Mina. Sa kabilang dako naman, ganun din. Sa gitna si Trisha at sa magkabilang gilid niya ay ang magulang niya.

They're talking about saang simbahan idadaos ang kasal. Both sides are giving suggestions kung saan. And minutes of thinking, they decided na sa church kung saan kinasal ang magulang ni Trisha.

And the next topic ay ang petsa ng kasal. At nagsimula na silang mag-usap. While me, tahimik lang. Hindi ko magawang libutin ang paningin ko dahil natatakot akong makita siya. Na kay Trisha lang ako nakatingin.

But minutes passed, I feel so discomfort. Like someone's been staring at you. Ganun yung feeling. Nakakailang. And Jana seems feel my discomfort. Magkatabi lang kasi kami.

" Your so stiff cous. You okay? " she whispered.

" I feel someone's staring at me cous, kanina pa. " I whisperd back.

Then I saw her scan and smiled meaningfuly.

" Your right cous. His instensely looking at you. " she teasingly said. Diniin pa talaga ang huling sinabi.

Then I don't know why my cheeks suddenly heat up. Don't tell me that I was blushing? Jesus!

Then kinurot niya ako. And I give her a dagger look. She just rolled her eyes.
