"What are you doing here?" I asked.
She grinned. Everybody stared . They certainly didn't know about her. But it was weird to see Jax confused too. I then turned back to Dutches. This time she seemed to answer.
"Hey,Sally.....umm....it's me Dutches. You don't remember me ? We met at the lake."
I named her as I saw her. Also I didn't seem confused. Then why did she react so?
"I know it's you . I remember you. Tell me , why are you hiding here?"
"You remember me? Fascinating! "She replied. Then continued. "Well, I ..uh..I am not hiding. "
I stared . She then said,sighing,
"Well, I don't have friends. So I wanted to camp with you guys. If you don't.... Mind."
I felt she was lying. She rubbed her fingers and seemed avoiding eye contact. I did study human behavior. But my emotions did not let her stand out. I turned towards the others ,
"I guess we have space for another member. Don't we?"
Everybody ssemed like they disagreed. Then Jax said,
"Yes ,we do. I don't think anyone should have a problem."
Dutches smiled.
"Well , but the problem is not solved yet. I guess nobody forgot what happened a couple of minutes ago." Ferd made a point.
"So ,what to do?" Mear asked.
"I say let's follow the white light. We lost our way and we got a partner. No other choice." Wybie sounded correct.
"I guess we choose to follow that weird...uh..light thingy ..path. So tighten up everybody. We'll be leaving in five." Then Jax turned around me and continued,
"And no diary writing."
I chuckled. Then grabbed my things and started packing. Dutches came and sat beside me. She remained silent for half a minute. Then confessed,
"I was passing by and I saw that diary-magic. I am sorry. But I do want to camp with you." I looked at her.
"What for? Not having friends and experiencing something that just caught you an eye.
It's fine. Just lighten up."
At my encouragement, she relaxed. I then noticed . She didn't bring her back-pack or any needed materials. She just had a purse... that could hardly fit any possible requirements. I didn't ask her.

We were on our way. I noticed that as we covered the distance, the light stared disappearing behind us. Nobody spoke a word in the journey. Soon we reached a mark on a tree that Jax put at the beginning of the journey so that we remember from where we passed. Later he forgot to mark as we headed ahead. It was sundown. The light didn't vanished when we reached our tents.
"I guess we reached in time."exclaimed Ferd as we settled. Wendy and Wybie put the fire on and we relaxed after a dreadfully weird journey. I also introduced everybody to Dutches.

After an hour of relaxing, Wybie took his guitar out and started playing. We all listened as he played a relaxing tune. Then Mear asked him to rock the woods. So he did. We all danced and banged the logs as if they were drums.
I noticed Dutches. She sat far behind staring at us as if she didn't like it. As she saw me approaching, her reactions changed weirdly. She then seemed as if she's loving the music a lot. I sat beside her.
"You guys do it great."she said.
"Thanks. It would be fun if you join us." I offered.
She gave me a blank look. "Maybe some other time. My knee hurts."
"We did walk a long way."
She agreed.
After sitting in silence, she stood up and asked,
"Do you have any place for me to sleep? I am extremely tired."
"Wendy won't mind sleeping with Mear. You can sleep in my tent. There." I pointed.

--
I flipped. What? Where is she? 'Dutches ' I called in a mild voice. I got up. She wasn't in her bed nor in the tent. Where can she go in the middle of the night ? Maybe to the washroom. I comforted myself in the bed. 'No!' I jumped up again. She doesn't know that the washroom is in the van. I hurried up, pushing the blanket aside.
'Dutches?' I peeked out of the tent. 'Oh ,it's so cold out here.' I felt the cold breeze on my feet. It was dark outside. I went inside and grabbed a torch. I wandered all around. I could not find her. I went back to the tent.
Whattttt? She's...she's sleeping in here? I panicked. I didn't even see her outside while I was searching for her. How can she...?
"Sally, you're dreaming. You are thinking too much . You are tired and sleepy. Go to bed." I convinced myself, kept the mirror away and went to bed.
