The difference with Christianity

So there are many people who think that Christianity in itself is simply another religion. We look at it like the other religions. But if you take a look at the other religions and take a look at Christianity you can see how it is unique and how it is different from other religions.

Lets look at Islam. Now, Islam believes similar to Christianity on how we were created. They believe that we were created from the dust but purpose is to submit to Allah. They believe that the problem is people don't follow Allah and they believe that they can fix it if everyone submits to Allah. There is no relationship in that if it is forced.

Lets look at Buddhism. They believe that the universe is infinite. They believe all life is suffering and it is caused by our selfish desires. They believe that in order to overcome our desires, we must follow the 8 fold path. It consists of 8 practices being: right view, right resolve, right speech, right conduct, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right "samadhi" (meditative absorption or union).

Lets look at Hinduism. They believe man is a manifestation or spark of Brahman trapped in physical body. They believe that the problem is ignorance of unity with Brahman and that we have violated dharma which is the teaching or religion of the Buddha (It's in Buddhism and Hinduism). They believe that we can fix it by freedom from illusion and ignorance and by following hindus. They believe that by doing that they will get off cycles of reincarnation.

A lot of people don't believe that atheist have a religion but they do because they believe in what they believe in and this is called Atheism. They believe that we were made by natural causes, nothing supernatural. They believe in evolution. They believe nothing is the problem. They have no categories for doing evil, wrong, or bad stuff.

What do all these religions have in common (except atheism)? They expect us to do something to get to a certain point; to work at it so that we can get to that point where we can be considered worthy or perfect. Some religions want to be forceful and want to force us to join it. Christianity is different. Yes, Jesus paid for the sins of EVERYONE but he does not force you to join it. He gives freewill and a lot of people don't see that. Now, each and everyone of us whether you want to believe it or not were created to believe that there is something greater out there. We all have that mindset, that there can't be nothing, that we were created for a purpose. It takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in Christianity. Here is a way I like to think of religions and Christianity: Religion says do, Jesus says done. Jesus knows that we aren't perfect and that we can't be so he did the work for us. We don't have to do a certain thing to be perfect because we can't be and he knew that so he died on the cross not only for my sins but your sins and EVERYONES sin. That is why I love Christianity because we accept that we aren't perfect and Jesus accepts us for who we are. There is no work involved. All you have to do is accept his gift and believe. Now, Jesus wants you to tell other people about him because its GOOD NEWS! and that we have eternal life. Who wouldn't want that? But he doesn't force us and as Christians we should want to tell other people about it.

Now, some questions people ask prove even more that this is true such as: Why would such a God allow such and such to happen to me? The first step is to admit that there is evil in the world which I'm pretty sure we can all agree on that. If there is evil in the world, then there has to be someone who will judge the evil. How do we get our sins forgiven? We can all agree that we have done wrong but if God does not exist who is to tell us what we do wrong and who will judge it? That's my point! There is a God and someday he is going to judge us all accordingly but Jesus is the forgiver of sins!

I think everyone should stop saying but I believe in this because of this and because I know it to be true! and start looking at what makes the most sense and what makes sense. Christianity out of all the other religions would make the most sense logically. We are humans and we aren't going to be able to understand everything. God is God so he understands more than us and knows more than us. He knows and understands everything. Our human minds can only know and understand so much. I encourage Christians and Non-Christians, to search. Christians, to stop saying and search for the truth to prove it! Jesus said and did, we should search and prove. Non-Christians, to search and see which one makes the most sense. To everyone, never stop searching but I hope that when you search you deepen your understanding and see what makes the most sense.

1 Peter 3:15 says "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect".

Acts 1:3 says "He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God".

I hoped this chapter helped. I know it was longer than usual but I wanted to make a point with all of this and to explain to people why Christianity makes sense. I hoped this helped you guys and has given you a new perspective on things.
