So I just read through the first 5 books of the Bible making it my goal to read the entire book. This will be all from memory and if there is stuff that you don't agree with feel free to comment down below. I just think it will be fun to review.

We start with the story everyone knows. Satan tempted Eve, Eve gave apple to Adam as well so they both sinned. So sin entered the world and that was the beginning of creation. We move on to Cain and Abel. Cain slaughtered Abel due to jealousy of his brothers offerings so God put a mark on Cain and he had to go away and he was a stranger in the land. If anyone were to kill Cain their mark would be even worse. Adam and Eve later had a child named Tubal-Cain in the place of Abel. Humans multiply and their hearts grow wicked so God decides to make a flood which is where Noah, his wives and his sons Shem Ham and Japeth come in. They build an ark and escape the flood then God promises to never flood the Earth again (The rainbow is the covenant). We begin to see more interesting people like Abraham. Abraham has a son Lot and almost sacrificed him due to a test from God. He succeeded and an animal was sacrificed in the place of. When Lot was at Sodom and Gomorrah, it was a very wicked place due to sin so he tried to find just one person in order for the land to be spared. This was not the case and they had to escape. His wife turned to a pillar of salt for turning around when God said not to do that. Abraham has sons named Isaac and Ishmael (I believe this is where the divide comes between Christianity and Islam) and they have sons named Jacob and Esau. Jacob gets his named changed to Israel after he wrestles with God. We move on to Joseph. His 11 brothers sold him to be a slave in Egypt due to... JEALOUSY! Potiphar who is the ruler of Egypt has a wife and this wife tried to have sex with Joseph and Joseph refuses and literally flees (TAKE THAT TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T THINK THEY CAN RELATE TO GENESIS). He gets thrown in jail due to the wife lying but then interprets dreams. Once Potiphar realizes nobody else can do this he makes Joseph second in command. Joseph sees his brothers again and he weeps with them happily ever after. then eventually Joseph dies (That story takes place centuries after Abraham and his sons so they are all dead).

We move on to Moses who was a baby found during a time where the Egyptian ruler wanted all the males dead. He was found and was SPARED! The Israelites who are God's chosen people are currently slaves under the Egyptians but God eventually works out miracles hardens Pharoahs heart (Leader of Egypt) and kills the livestock, sends locusts, frogs, etc. THEN THEY LEAVE! (I know I'm skipping a lot this takes place over the period of centuries but this is a SUMMARY). The Israelites moan and complain cause they are hungry. OH HOW WE SHOULD HAVE DIED IN EGYPT (That's why i get so furious when Americans complain. We have it so good). This goes on forever until God gives them bread to eat and the upcoming 4 books other than Genesis are the Israelites wandering to a land flowing with milk and honey a.k.a. the land of Canaan. We have them spying on the land for 40 days and everyone doubts except Joshua and Caleb so they are the only people that will get to see the land. All the rest of the Israelites will have to wander in the wilderness 40 years 1 day being 1 year since they did not believe. They all die but Moses cannot go to the land because of what he did at Meribah which was go against Gods command. So he dies and Joshua is in charge. (Aaron is an important character too. He was Moses brother and helped him out with everything but due to me trying to make this as short as possible he will be an honorable mention). So the people wept for Moses 30 days (Same for Aaron which is probably the amount of time everybody wept for important figures). Deuteronomy is pretty much a recap of everything and we find out at the end that Moses was a very important prophet due to him actually seeing the face of God.

Hope you enjoyed this! I tried summarizing as best as I could! I know there is so much more to explain but hopefully I made it interesting for you guys!
