When life turns to be unfair
C h a p t e r 28: Bad News.
Thomas was surprised when he heard that Valencia is having an interrogation. He thought that for now, they have no proof that she did anything unless the player started playing dirty.
Which is not a surprise...
He knew that shit is about to go down, and he only hoped that Valencia is ready for it.
Poor girl, she didn't even have the time to rest a little since she came.
On his way to the police station, his phone rang. He picked up without looking.
"Hello, this is Thomas Hans, who's this?"
"Hey, it's me..." the voice was so soft.
"Oh, how are you? Is everything okay? How is Reydon?" he asked concerned.
"He's a bit sick, he had fever since last night and I couldn't do anything to make it better. You know I can't go to the hospital with him especially with Drake away."
Thomas tensed, he's not in the city to go to her and he was about to get really busy. He sighed and told her calmly that he'll call for help from one of his friends.
"Listen, for now, try to put him in the bath, it may help him for now... and pay attention. You'll know when the help comes."
She said goodbye and hung up.
He grabbed the steering wheel tighter then slammed one of his hands at it.
Ouch...
I only have to focus on being with Valencia for now.

Valencia has been feeling as if someone smashing her heart all day long. She didn't understand whether it was out of stress or something bad is about to happen. She was finding it hard to breathe.
She leant her head on the window and watched everything goes so fast. It got her dizzy but who cares if it'll make her forget the feeling she's having.
Zack kept checking on her from time to time while he's driving, but he remained silent. He knew that blank face she's wearing is just a mask hiding a deep troublesome expression.
She tried to call Declan to let him know where she's going. After all, he's the only witness that she was home, he's her secret weapon.
But he didn't answer her calls, so she ended up leaving him a message asking whether he's fine or not and telling him everything he needs to know.

"Awe so cute! Declan are you okay, you're not answering my calls, please tell me you're okay... dude, she's so desperate how did you manage to befriend her? No no, how did you fall for her three years ago?" the guy laughed while holding Declan's phone.
It's not only three years ago...
"Can I have my phone back?" he wanted to see her message, read it and answer her.
I hate this, I just hate this...
"What? Obviously, it's a no. we're watching you now so giving you the phone is like giving you lots of ideas to set a trap for us."
"Tell me... why are you doing this?" Declan whispered, defeated. "What's the point?"
The guy looked at him motionless then smiled. "Well, humans do things, stupid things for different reasons. So if you ask me why I'm doing this I'll give you a different reason from the one of the boss."
The least I can say, Declan didn't expect a sincere answer. He looked at the guy who turned his face to watch the road.
"Okay one more question, do you think you'll regret doing this when you look at it in the future?" Declan just wanted to be sure of something.
The guy didn't answer, his look lost outside.
"Dylan?"
He chuckled then turned to face Declan. "You're asking me if I'm going to regret it in the future. Man, I'm already hating it." He stopped talking then sighed and continued. "You know better than anyone else so far that sometimes, our choices are chosen by other people, and you have to suck it up."

"So, you're still saying that your friend was with you the day of the murder?" the officer said, narrowing his eyes.
She nodded her head, looking at Thomas perplexed while he was in deep silence.
"You're sure you have no other proof? Young girl, let me be clear with you, your evidence of your innocence is so weak right now, you have to think otherwise bad news is coming your way."
She kept silent, she could think of nothing. That's all that happened that day.
Thomas was worried. His mind split to think of two problems, as much as he wanted to help Valencia, there's nothing he can do.
She wanted to lie, to come up with an excuse but couldn't think of anything.

Thomas walked out in deep thoughts; luck wasn't even close to being by his side. He took his phone out of his pocket and called his friend to let him know that Reydon needs an urgent medical care.
I need to talk to Drake right now, or he'll freak out.
Zack hugged her but she didn't make a single move.
You know that feeling when you feel all your body reacting slowly to all the information that comes to your mind when you're thinking over and over and the situation you're in is a total disaster but yet you can't make a single move... it's like you're trapped in a small cage that enables you from even blinking.
"We'll figure it out... we always do don't we?" he assured her while tightening his grip on her.
"Do we?..." she whispered.
Do we actually always end up figuring it out? I don't think so... Zack barely knows anything about me, and since I came here trouble followed me and no one seemed to get solved... do we?

"Listen Drake, I have bad news..." Thomas spoke slowly and uncertain how to break the news.
"Why you always call when it's bad news man?"
"Just listen to me... I did my best, they planned it perfectly. They probably know we're here so be careful with your actions."
"Now you're scaring me. What happened?" Drake stopped smiling and waiting for Thomas to tell him already.
A long silence was followed by three words.
No, it's not I love you, I hoped it'd be that too...
"Valencia got arrested."
