C h a p t e r 46: Him.

Dylan drove Declan home as he was showing him the way.

Act like you don't know me...

Dylan insisted his message was received otherwise it'll be so messed up. Declan didn't know yet if Tanya was involved or not, whether she just knows Dylan or if this was another trap. He couldn't trust his surroundings.

Tanya introduced them to each other saying she knew Dylan for a long time, which was true considering he was friends with her for a long time as they grew up together in the old rich neighbourhood but got separated when she and her family moved out when they became broke.

She wanted to stay a bit with Declan and talk a bit at home but he just claimed to be tired and needs rest. She told him they should all meet up at her house on Saturday to have fun.

He knew something was up, but he didn't know who was innocent and who was not so when she asked for his new phone number since his old one has been unused since the court day, he just told her he didn't get any new SIM yet.

Ethan didn't sleep the night, staying to watch over the baby. He knew how exhausted his friend was and that Raymond needed to someone next to him.

Thomas came in the middle of the night, sneaking in like a thief. He passed to where Ethan was and explained to him everything.

Ethan wasn't sure the plan would work out, but Thomas assured him it'll go just fine if he does what he's told.

"So we're coming to an end soon..." Ethan sighed a sigh full a relief yet worry.

"I hope so. The biggest move is yet to come and neither of us will be there for her. She is strong, but let's hope she can handle what's yet to come."

Ethan passed his hand on his hair and muttered: "It's too much..."

Thomas started walking away as he spoke. "Meet him tomorrow. Don't leave him any chance to back off. I'll take care of the rest."

He sighed and went to the kitchen where Zack was already awake making breakfast.

"Good morn- did you stay awake the whole night bro?" Zack asked worried as he turned to face his friend.

Ethan coughed uncomfortably. "Not really, only slept few hours though, forgot my sleeping pills"

He grabbed an apple and continued. "Anyway, I got to go. I'll be back as soon as possible. Take care and don't open the door if I or Thomas didn't call you to assure it's one of us. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay Ethan! Thank you! I'll be here revising the lessons I've missed, the teachers were nice enough to send me Pdf versions.

Ethan walked out and took his phone to call Dylan. They used to be close, but Dylan seemed to change a lot. Now he knows why. Dylan was studying engineering so he wasn't in the same field as them. He was the silent type of guys who never revealed anything and his reaction on Valencia in the party was the most anyone has ever seen of him. Ethan tried his best that day to hold himself and not jump on him and kick his ass. He focused on holding Zack.
