I had to get into my hotel room as quickly as I could, after seeing Nick & Cherry flirting so openly, in the hallway. The way Nick looked at me broke my heart, but also infuriated me. I wasn't even sure who I was mad at more. Him or me? I couldn't even look away once our eyes locked. Only when I heard a soft gasp come out of Cherry, was I able to break my gaze from Nick's & look at her.

We stared at each other & I noticed how scared she looked, but I knew it wasn't because she knew I had feelings for Nick. It was another reason that I didn't even care about, at that moment. I kept looking between the two of them as I got my key card out & walked to my door. I let myself into my room & once the door was shut, I leaned on it so I could catch my breath before the tears fell from my eyes. I had no idea I would react this severely, just by seeing Nick flirting with another woman.
I only cried for a few minutes, then I pulled myself together & got undressed to get in the shower. As I let the water fall over me, I had a vision pop into my head. What if Nick was in Cherry's room, right now & they were about to have sex? I sat down on the edge of the tub, to reel in my emotions. I had no reason to be upset. Nick wasn't mine. He wasn't anything to me other than my best friend. He could do whatever or whoever he wanted & I couldn't say a word about it.
I ended up falling asleep, in my robe & only woke up when the alarm on my phone went off, the next morning. I was barely up a half hour when I had my assistant & a few other people in my room, going over some things that were on the schedule over the next few days. My song, "Body Say," had come out a few days earlier & they were trying to keep me informed at how it was doing on the charts, so I was getting lots of information that morning.
No matter what the people around me were talking about, I couldn't stop thinking about Cherry & Nick. I wanted to know if Nick spent the night in her room, but I couldn't come right out & ask her. I knew I'd see her at some point, soon, but wasn't sure when or if she'd even bring it up.
I didn't see Nick that next day & didn't see him, again, until the day of our show in New York, when we got together for an appearance at the Mets game. I still hadn't seen Cherry, since she was in the hallway, so I had no idea what was going on with her & Nick. I couldn't ask Nick, that was for sure, so I just acted completely normal when he was around.
We posed for photos at the game & when I felt his arm go around me, I got tingly again. When his hand grazed my ass, I sucked in my breath & tried to smile for the dozens of cameras that were taking our picture.
