"Isn't Kate with Ashton?"

I finish braiding my hair to the side and look up to where Hana is very judgementally staring. Kate is laughing and flipping her hair around a group of guys in our class. Ashu nods her head as though to say yeah, why?

"Then why is she flirting with like, everyone?" Hana continues.

"They're not relationship people. Everyone knows they cheat on each other," Aya shrugs.

I frown, "Then why are they together?" It's none of my business, but that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. And I had to endure an hour and a half of art class, admiring a blank fucking canvas sold for fifteen million dollars. Just... Why.

"It's complicated, they've been together forever. It would be weird if they broke up," Ashu cuts in, stretching her legs to warm up for this dreadful gym class.

I shrug, I guess some people enjoy toxic relationships.

"I wouldn't mind him cheating with me, he is a GOD," Aya sighs as she swoons over Ashton, who—surprise surprise—isn't here.

I grin and shake my head at her, filling my water bottle up.

"So anyway, how's it going with you and Adrien, huh?" Hana waggles her eyebrows at me.

I shrug, "Good."

They look at me expectedly. What? Am I supposed to elaborate? I suddenly feel uncomfortable. It's been a month, and I guess we're dating by default. He's cool.

"You guys are so cute together!" Aya adds.

"I kinda wanted you to be with Eric, to be honest," Hana mumbles.

A sharp pain shoots through my chest, I clench my jaw and focus on my water bottle. Aya smacks her over the head. "Shut up Hana. We don't mention that name," she hisses.

Eric and I haven't spoken since the incident on the beach. I've pretty much avoided him since. He tried talking to me a couple times, called a bunch, but I wouldn't hear him out. He stopped trying when he found out I'm seeing Adrien. It's the longest time we haven't spoken since I met him.

"It's fine, seriously. Besides, Adrien and I aren't even official," I tell them.

"OKAY, EVERYONE! START WITH THREE LAPS AROUND THE FIELD! I don't want to see ANYONE walking!" Ms. Reeka yells out to the class and blows her obnoxious whistle.

Aya huffs, "There's no way in hell I'm running."

"See you guys on the flip side," Ashu smirks as she and Hana take off jogging.

I sigh, I don't feel like running either. Ms. Reeka frowns when she sees us standing and makes her way towards us.

"Why aren't you two running?" she folds her arms across her chest and raises her eyebrows expectedly.

"I broke my toe kicking my brother," Aya shrugs.

"Running is against my religion," I tell her. Aya snorts.

Ms. Reeka frowns, "And what religion might that be?"

"None you would know. It's new, more of a cult really—"

Aya breaks into laughter. Ms. Reeka looks like she's about to pop a vein, "BOTH OF YOU START RUNNING NOW OR YOU'LL DO AN EXTRA FIVE LAPS AND SERVE DETENTION."

We jump back in fear and quickly take off lazily jogging.

"That was the hardest," Aya pants with her hands on her knees and a face full of sweat, "Thing I've ever done in my life," she breathes.

"That's," pant, "So sad," I respond.

Adrien makes his way towards me. How is it dudes look hot and are able to function when they sweat and workout but I just look like I've run across the Sahara desert for the past month with no water?

"Hey, beautiful."

"Get me my water bottle, now," I wave him off.

He laughs and does as he's told as I plant my ass on the grass in order to try and feel human again.

"Mine too!" Aya calls out after him.

Adrien looks around and points towards a purple water bottle questioningly, Aya nods. Adrien makes his way back to us and hands us our water bottles.

"He's a keeper," Aya says after gulping down a considerable amount of water that has ended up halfway down her shirt.

I snort as I down my entire water bottle in one go. Don't you just love water?

Adrien laughs and turns towards me, "You're still coming to watch me play tonight, right?"

I nod. "Of course. I'll be the one with the number one fan poster," I tease. Aya looks like she's about to cry, for fuck's sake.

He smirks and plants a quick kiss on my lips.

"You guys are literally my pet peeve," she whines.

Adrien snorts and I grin at her, pulling him in for another kiss, despite not really being into PDA.

"Alright, I'll see you then," he tells me.

I nod and wave him off.

"YOU GUYS ARE SO CUTE!" Aya is fangirling.

"Shut up," I laugh and pick up my gym bag, making eye-contact with Eric while doing so.

He's standing with Isabella, but he's staring directly at me with crestfallen eyes. My heart sinks slightly and I quickly look away.

I won't admit it. I won't admit it hurts to see him. At least out loud, I won't admit I miss him.
