An hour passes and all my classmates have shown up.

"How many times do we have to go over this? My clothes are in fashion, okay?" Hana scowls.

I press my lips into a flat line, "In catalogs at nursing homes?"

She frowns and Aya and Ashton break into laughter. "Let me fix your top, at least. You look like a teacher," Aya tugs at her arm and leads her to the bathroom inside.

"I'm gonna get a drink, you want anything?" Ashton asks me.

"Sure, I'll have one."

"Hey," Adrien comes up to me when Ashton leaves.

I smile awkwardly, "Hey, Adrien... How are you?"

He nods, "Good, thanks. Happy birthday, you look nice."

"Thanks, I'm glad you came," I tell him with a warm smile.

He studies me as a girl comes and stands by him. She tucks her dirty blonde hair behind her ears and smiles sweetly.

"Um, you said we could bring plus ones, right?" Adrien grins sheepishly.

"I hope it's okay. I was really bored," the girl tells me, and I detect a country accent. A southern belle, cute.

"Of course," I tell them.

He nods, "Cool. This is my girlfriend, Hannah. Hannah, meet Clementine."

She extends her hand and I shake it, alarmed at how white she is. She snorts, "I know. I could blend into the snow," she mumbles.

I laugh at this, "You poor thing. Do you ever go out into the sun?"

She shakes her head, "Major sunburns."

We continue chatting, and there's little to no tension or awkwardness. She turns out to be a lovely person. Unsurprisingly, I feel nothing but happiness for Adrien and his new boo. Adrien leaves us to get drinks, and Hannah and I continue chatting.

"Gosh darn it, is that Danny-bear?" her eyes widen.

I frown, trying not to snort, "Who?" I turn to realize she's talking about Dan. Who has a girl by his side.

"Creepy Dan?" my jaw drops in shock.

She shakes her head, "That good for nothing boy! Left me for that Caroline bitch."

I press my lips together awkwardly. Dan? Creepy Dan has game?

She shakes her head and becomes fidgety. She pulls out a packet of cigarettes and lights one, "That pumpkin left me cause I smoke too much! But he was such a great lover. He made love to me everywhere, even my uncle's funeral," she sighs deeply, then shakes her head. "But it's all right. I'm with Adrien, now. And he is such a hunk! Not the greatest in bed, but he lets me smoke."

I blink several times, not comprehending anything that's happening right now. Am I in an alternate universe? She excuses herself. I shake my head from the weirdness of all of that and head inside to find a bathroom, but I'm stopped by none other than Steven fucking Tyler.

"Holy shit," my jaw drops, "Pinch me."

He laughs a bountiful laugh, "You must be Clementine. Happy birthday, dear."

I shake my head in disbelief, "Thank you! I mean, shit... I knew you might swing by but I had no idea you'd actually show up."

He smiles, "Well I'm very fond of Brandon. Couldn't say no to such a dear friend."
