Chapter 41: Unfair

Uriah POV

"Hey bro" I tell Zeke as I pat his back.

We should be in bed with a terrible hangover, but after so many, we know perfectly how to manage them.

"Hey" Zeke says, "Is everything ready?"

"Yeah,we still have to wait for the love birds, who for being raised as stiffs, aren't very puntual"

"Talking about the kings of Rome" Zeke says pointing at them,

"What's up with you and that line lately?" Four says.

He's right, he said it yesterday too.

I notice they're holding hands, which makes me think of Christina.

Which makes me miss her.

I wish she was here, holding my hand.

"...Uriah?" I react to my name. The three of them are looking at me, I guess Christina distracted me.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Can we talk for a sec?" Zeke asks.

"Yeah"

He grabs my arm and pulls me a few feet away from Four and Tris.

"I don't remember what I told you yesterday, but the thing is, I'm going to propose to Shauna."

"Wow bro!" I say hugging him, "I don't remember either, but that's awsome man! Finally!"

"I have to buy thr ring yet"

"When will you propose?"

"Today"

"Wait" I just realized something. "You just told me you're propose today"

"-yeah..."

"-and you said you don't have the ring yet"

"-True."

"-but you haven't ask me to go with you!"

"I know" Zeke says, like it was not important, "so...?"

"So you don't want me to come?"

"I'll go with Four"

"I can believe it! I'm your brother!"

"Ow, don't be such a pussy, get over it little bro. You can be officially Dauntless now, but that doesn't mean we'll invite you for everything"

"Kay" I say trying to sound uninterested.

"Chris!" I call as I get inside our appartment.

"Uri!" she quickly cames to peck my lips and give me a big and warm hug.

"How was your day, babe?" she asks as we sit for dinner.

"Good, but Pansycake Alfa pissed me off"

"Zeke...?" she asks.

"Yep"

"Why?" Christina asks, with concerned in her voice.

"He asked Four to-"I immediately stop when I realize she may not know.

I know Zeke knows, Four knows, and I know, but the girls don't know.

"He asked Four to...? To what?"

"To...help him clean the kitchen"

Really Uriah? Really?

"Uri, I have heard better lies...in Candor!"

"Wait, what? Did you heard me well?"

"Yes" she says confunsed.

"I said: He asked Four to..."

She raises her eye browns, and I give up.

"Stop being a sassy Candor, babe! It's irritating" finally say,

"FIne. Don't tell me then."

"Okay"

"Will used to liked it" the words leave her mouth like venon.

"What?"

"Will used to liked it, when I acted like a Candor. He accepted me not only for who I am, but who I was before Dauntless." as the last words leave her mouth, she stands from the table and leaves.

I swear I can literrally see the tension. This is not what I wanted.

Now I feel ten times worst. I just wanted her confort.

"Thanks for the confort babe" I say to myself.

But I can't blame her. It was my fault for opening my damn mouth!
