Chapter Twenty-Nine: Plans

I was shocked. I was wearing my engagement ring on my ring finger and my other ring on my middle finger.

"What is your dad gonna say?" I asked Alex.

"I don't know." Alex said, "I'm not telling him." He said holding Lyric.

"Are we telling anyone?" I asked him.

"My mom knew I was going to. I told her." He said, "Anyone else is what you wanna do." I kissed Alex. He kissed Lyric's head.

"I think I want to tell May." I said, "She should know." I smiled.

"Tell her." Alex said kissing my cheek. "She accepts it." Alex rubbed my back.

"I know." I said holding Lyric. I laid her down in her play pen in the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" I asked him.

"I could eat." Alex said.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"No. Baby. I'm making you food." He said, "I love you. A lot."  I blushed.

"I love you." I said against his lips. When I kissed him I fell in love. It felt like the time at the party. When we had sex. I felt the same way. And I realized how much I loved him. "I really, really, love you." I said in between kisses. "Alex, your my everything." I said, "I don't know what I'd do without you." He looked at me, "I'd be home. In Lebanon. Alone."

"Jack. I'm sure there are better people out there. Way better people. And you. Your wasting time. With me." He said.

"I don't want better, Alex." I said, "I want you." He kissed my forehead. "I love you, Alex."

"Why?" He said, "Why?"

"Alex, I can think of a million reasons. One million reasons that I love you." I said.

"Jack, you're perfect and I'm no where near it." He said, "I make mistakes. More than I can ever count."

"Alexander, you aren't perfect. Neither am I." I said. I kissed his cheek. "No one is."

"I know." He brushed my hair back. "I'm making you breakfast."

I waited almost two hours.

"Baby." He said, "Its done." I ran into the kitchen. Alex made a feast. He had eggs, toast, bacon, ham, sausage, and fruit.

"Wow." I said.

"Its nothing." He said as I took a bite of bacon.

"Alex. No. This is amazing." I said.

"Thanks." He laughed. We sat there and ate everything.

"I haven't eaten this much since I got pregnant." I said making Alex laugh. He grabbed my plate.

"Yeah, I kinda figured." He said. I stood up and walked to the couch. I realized it was 1 o'clock. Alex came in with Lyric and sat on me.

"Babeeee." I said holding at the 'e' in a whiney tone.

"What?" Alex said.

"Get off of me." I chuckled. He stood up and laid beside me. Lyric was asleep on his chest and he was using me as a pillow.

"Your soft." He said touching my face.

"Your bigger than me, why am I the pillow?" I said.

"Your cuter." He said poking my cheek. I smiled.

"No, I'm not." I said leaning down and kissing him, "Cutie." Alex was playing with my hair.

"Are we gonna have a lazy day all day?" He asked me.

"I don't care." I said biting his hand, "I'm good with it."

"Don't bite me." He laughed. "I don't taste good." Alex sat up and held onto Lyric.

"I never thought we'd be this far." I said looking straight across the room.

"Really?" Alex asked me.

"Yeah..." I said truthfully.

"This was my plan since we met. In 8th grade." He said, "Not the pregnant part."

"Like being engaged?" I asked looking at him. He nodded back.

"Yes, Jack. I have always and will always like you." He said.

"Awh, Alex." I said hugging him, "I love you."

"I love you too." He said kissing my forehead.

Alex came back into the room after putting Lyric in bed. May was on her way over. We were telling her about our engagement. "What if she isn't supportive?" I asked Alex.

"She already is..." Alex said.

"Remember she laughed at me when I first found out."

"Yes, Jack. She's supportive." Alex said.

"What if she isn't?" I asked him.

"Stop worrying about it and kiss me." Alex said grabbing the collar on my tee shirt and pulling me close to him. He kissed me. We had a make out session for a good five to ten minutes, until May walked in.

"Hey, lovebirds!" She said pulling Alex away from me.

"May!" I yelped.

"Your lucky its me and not mom." May said, "She'd go all crazy ass Joyce Barakat on you." I laughed sarcastically. "So why did I have to come here for something that can't wait?"

"Alex..." I said holding his hand.

"Me and Jack..."

"Are getting married..." I held out my hand. May's jaw dropped.

"Congratulations!" She said hugging Alex and I.

"Thank You." I said hugging her back.

"When do you plan on telling mom?" May asked me.

"I don't plan on it." I said.

"Are you guys having like a big wedding?" She asked me.

"We were planning on it." Alex said.

"Just not telling mom..." May said.

"I guess, I mean. She won't let it happen." I said, "I can't let her take this." 

"She's okay with you two living together..." May said.

"Yeah, but I think she thought that we'd break up. And we'd give Lyric up." Alex said.

"And I like our little family..." I said.

"Jack, Alex, I'm sure that wasn't her idea..." May said sitting down.  

"I just feel like if we told her, it'd be a living hell." I said.

"I'm sure it wouldn't." May said. "She might not like it, but this is who you are."

"She doesn't seem to mind it." Alex said. "Stop worrying." Alex said with his voice getting quieter, Alex leaned  in and kissed my nose.

"Guys, you work this all out... I need to go see Joe." May said, "Bye."

"Love you, May." I said.

"Love you too." She said shutting the door behind her. I curled up into a small ball and laid on Alex. I shortly after fell asleep.
