Chapter 5: Mt. Moon

The morning after the gym battle with Brock, Zia and the rest were getting ready to set off down the path to Cerulean City. They had packed up and we're heading down the street when they were stopped.

"Hey Zia! Wait up!" Someone shouted at her from behind. When she turned to see the owner of the voice, it turned out to be Brock.

"Brock? What do you need to be running after me like this?" Zia asked as she waited for a response. After a few seconds of him regaining his breath, he stood up and continued.

"Well, I wanted to wish you luck. I have a good feeling about you and I'm curious to see where that'll lead. With that in mind, I'd like to recommend you shoot for the Pokemon league." He paused for a breath. "The Pokemon league is a tournament at the Indigo Plateau for all trainers that have attained 8 gym badges to battle each other to see who comes out the strongest. The winner will then be declared the champion." Brock explained as he gave Zia a smile.

"That does sound quite fun, thanks for telling me. I appreciate it." Zia thanked as she returned the smile. She was about to walk away when Brock stopped her again.

"Wait! Umm, one more thing. I found this Vulpix when it was being attacked by some Spearow and I think you would be a good trainer for it. It's a rambunctious little thing I'll tell you that. I watched the way you fought with your Pokemon and your bonds with them so I know this one will be fine with you." Brock explained when Zia had a stunned look on her face. She relaxed and took the pokeball from him and looked very excited and happy to have another companion.

"Thank you Brock, I'll take good care of it, I swear." Zia replied as she waved him goodbye and set back on her route to her next destination. As they were walking down the path, she decided to rest for a bit and brought out all her Pokemon to meet the new addition.

"Hey everyone, wanna meet our new friend?" She asked to which they all nodded, very excited. Zia got the Vulpix's pokeball out of her bag and released it. Out came an adorable looking red fox with 6 tails.

Type: Fire
At the time of birth, it has just one tail. The tail splits from its tip as it grows older.
Known Moves: Ember, Tail Whip, Roar, Baby-Doll Eyes, Quick Attack, Confuse Ray, Fire Spin, Payback, Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hypnosis
Egg Moves: Flare Blitz, Heat Wave, Secret Power, Thunderbolt
Gender: Female

"Vulpix?" The fox Pokemon tilted he head in confusion. Zia walked over and crouched in front of her. "Hey girl, I'm Zia. Would you wanna be part of my team?" Zia asked the Vulpix. She seemed to think for a moment before nodding her head.

"Great! Name, name, name.... Oh! How's Athena?" Zia questioned. Athena looked at her and nodded again, saying she liked the name. After that, all the other Pokemon were talking to her while Zia began setting the food out.

While everyone was eating, Sky suddenly shot her head up and looked around. She seemed to be trying to hear something. "Sky, what wrong? Do you hear something?" Zia asked "I hear something, it sounds like a distressed Pokemon." The Luxio replied while looking around.

"Can you tell where it's coming from?" The girl asked. "Yeah, it's coming from further down the path." The Luxio replied to her.

"Down the path? Mt. Moon is up there! Ok, let's go see what's wrong." Zia decided as she sent back Gunnar, Avery, and Athena. The three left, heading down the path. When they got there, Zia sighed tremendously as Team Rocket was there. They ran into the cave before she could stop them. Zia went after them through the cave entrance. As she went in the light was still there, it wasn't dark as a cave should be. Under closer inspection, she realized there were lights strung up on the caves walls.
