A Pack's Price

Chapter 7: The Unexpected

Namjoon was thinking of the best way to approach Jin. Ever since last night, he'd felt bad. Even now, as he lays in the grass underneath the shade with Hoseok.

Jungkook, Jimin, and Taehyung were running around happily, tackling each other to the ground and nipping at each others jaws and ears.

Namjoon watched as Jin sat curled up underneath a different tree. He's remained in human form and refuses to play with the others. Was he really that upset about last night?

Before he could make a move, however, Hoseok suddenly stands and makes his way over to the omega. Namjoon watches nervously as Hoseok curls around Jin. They had only just brought the omegas outside, maybe it wasn't a good idea to let Hoseok try and reconcile with Jin so quickly.

Jin grimaced when he felt Hoseok lick his cheek and nuzzle against him. Observing Jin interact with Hoseok made Namjoon even more curious. Usually when Jimin or Taehyung were angry with one of them, it was nothing a little bit of cuddling couldn't fix. With Jin, however, he watched as the omega scooted away from Hoseok's affectionate nuzzling, opting to sit in the sun rather than in the cool shade with him.

Hoseok laid his ears against his head, whining at the rejection. This was Namjoon's cue to intervene. He stood up and made his way over to the two. Upon better inspection, he could see Jin's puffy and red eyes. They knew he'd been crying last night. His extremely distressed smell and the loud sniffles were a dead giveaway. He made a questioning growl as he laid down in the sun with him.

Jin was pulling grass apart, his eyes trained on the ground. He didn't respond, but spared Namjoon a seconds glance.

Namjoon tried again. He lightly nudged Jin's shoulder and made a low growl, getting impatient.

"Alpha...." Jin began. From his peripheral vision he could see Hoseok's head shoot up. It probably surprised him that he got the omega to respond. "....I'm.... I'm sorry." He murmured. It surprised Namjoon when Jin laid on his back, using Namjoon as a makeshift pillow. He didn't mind at all, and accepted Jin's touches with encouraging and affectionate licks of his own.

Jin ran his fingers through Namjoon's fur. From where he was laying, he could hear the alpha's heartbeat. It was calming and eventually began lulling him to sleep. He had such an emotional night and was still feeling shitty about the whole thing. He didn't realize how much he needed to be comforted by Namjoon. He felt bad for rejecting Hoseok and internally scolded himself. His eyes slipped closed and combined with Namjoon's calming scent, even breaths, soft fur, and the warm sun, he allowed himself to fall asleep.

Hoseok sat on the sidelines, watching frustratedly as Jin allowed Namjoon to cuddle and comfort him. The situation wouldn't be resolved unless Jin and Hoseok made up. He lowered his head, slowly crawling closer to the two. When he came to Jin's legs, he laid his chin on them. The hot sun was baring down on them and it was a bit uncomfortable.

He couldn't help but admire how beautiful Jin was. Even though the corners of his eyes were a bit puffy and red, he still looked attractive. Namjoon was laying on his side contentedly with Jin's small human frame resting on him. He let out a small whine, nudging the omega's hand with his nose.

When he felt Jin's hand come up to rest on his head, he yipped happily. Namjoon emitted a low growl, warning him to not wake up the emotionally drained omega. He watched contentedly from his spot on Jin's lap as Namjoon lapped at Jin's resting hands affectionately. He knew how important it was to Namjoon to keep the omegas in their pack happy, and after doing a lot of thinking, he had decided that he had been in the wrong last night. Jin was still a fairly new pack member and of course he'd have to have time to adjust.

It was a peaceful day outside and Jin felt happy being close to the two alphas, being showered in affection as they watched Taehyung and Jungkook tease a small rabbit that was trying to run away from them. Jimin abandoned the game in favor of sitting with Yoongi, who had came out only a few minutes ago. Jimin had been very affectionate with him, but Jin didn't think too much of it. Jimin was an overall cuddly omega. He watched, amused, as Jimin rubbed against him repeatedly, rolling onto his back and trying to nip and lick at the alpha's jaw. Yoongi would bring a paw over the omegas face to keep him still, or scoot away when he couldn't control him, but Jimin would continue to bother him.
