Namjoon was terrified.
Watching his mate stand near the edge of a dangerous steep slope had made his blood run cold. In that moment, Jin looked lost and broken. The omega had blood trickling down his legs, so much so, that it nauseated Namjoon and his instincts were screaming at him to protect.
Jin was trembling, tears rolling down his cheeks and his balance was unsteady. His hair was a mess and his lips were chapped.
It was sad that it had to come to this for Namjoon to realize just how damaged Jin was because of his past. He felt a flood of emotions overwhelm him, emotions that surely reached Jin.
"Jin... Look at me. I'm your mate. If you go, I will go down with you." Namjoon spoke, his tone serious. Jin looked at him after that, looking terrified at the very idea of Namjoon following him. He continued. "Don't throw yourself away, Jin. You're still very much needed, still very much loved..."
"You'll hate me. Y-you won't want me anymore, t-the pup-"
"Is alive. Just as you left, Jimin got it's heart to beat. Jin, we have two boys and a girl. Don't you want to be with our pups?" Namjoon said softly, holding his hand out for Jin to take. "We haven't even held our children... haven't looked at them properly yet... don't you want to?"
"J-Junho..." Jin mumbled, and he very nearly stumbled backwards, both Namjoon and Yoongi's hearts dropped, but Jin righted himself.
"W...what about him?" Namjoon asked. He knew that Junho was still ever present in Jin's dreams and thoughts, and he honestly had no idea how to help him, not if Jin didn't talk to him.
Jin's face crumbled. "I feel like... Like I'll never be your omega, Namjoon. Not completely... And I'm sorry..."
"Jin-" Namjoon stepped forward, his heart aching.
"I'm sorry... I'm so, so sorry..." Jin sobbed, his legs finally giving out on him. He collapsed, sitting in the freezing cold snow with his face buried into the palms of his hands. "You deserve a better omega. I'm... I'm so disgusting, and maybe... m-maybe it would have been better if I had stayed in my old pack. You all sacrificed so much for me... Junho was right..."
"No, he wasn't." Yoongi growled, anger simmering inside at just the very thought of another alpha hurting their omega. "You're not disgusting, Jin-"
"I'm sorry-!" Jin sobbed harder, and both Namjoon and Yoongi watched in horror as he dangled his legs over the edge.
"OMEGA, STOP!"
Birds from nearby trees flew away from how loud Namjoon's shout was. The sky was a dark grey from an impending winter storm. It was cold, and each breath Yoongi took created a cloud cutting through the freezing winter air.
"....please..... come here...." Namjoon mumbled, beckoning Jin over using his alpha voice.
The two watched as Jin wordlessly carried out the order. He crawled toward them, his eyes hooded and devoid of comprehension. Namjoon sobbed as he pulled Jin into a tight hug, burying his nose into his mate's neck and deeply breathing the scent he very nearly lost forever.
"It's okay. I'm here, Jin." Namjoon repeated like a mantra. Jin's body slumped into him, vulnerable and helpless.
"....Let's go back. He's still bleeding." Yoongi said solemnly. Namjoon nodded and cradled Jin close as he carried him all the way back. He couldn't even begin to think of what sort of words to say to Jin when he awoke. He was in shock too, after seeing his mate very nearly take his own life.
Jimin cried. He cried harder than anyone's ever seen before. The pups were asleep and laid next to each other on the furs Yoongi had brought. Jin was still unconscious from Namjoon's alpha voice, and for now the three alphas were tending to their distressed omega.
