Bethel was a house known as ‘The house of God’ and was the place where Jacob saw angels ascending and descending from heaven. The town near it was Luz and over time both would be called Bethel. Near the stone of Jacob one of his descendants had built a dwelling. When Kendra and the others arrived Chralane warned them, “We can stay within the environs of the house as guests, for the owner is hospitable for the love of God. We can also camp outside and still receive the protection of the holy place.” He knocked on the door of the compound and within a minute a little girl answered.
“Hello Chralane,” smiled a small olive skinned girl, “do you want Abba?”
Chralane smiled back, “Yes Deela, is Mendro in?”
“He is seeing to the well,” she let the door fly open and ran over to the well.
Kendra caught the door before it banged on the wall. He let the others in and closed the door. When they had all got over to the well Chralane looked down into it, “Mendro?” he called.
Slopping around in the water below was a small Semite man. “Is that you Chralane?”
“You have guests who need the protection of your home.”
