The rumours had already got to Bethel. For a whole week they had rested and trained and had not considered hunting any more giants when they had heard about the movement of the giant army. There was not a king or a ruler in the area that could hope to stand against such an army. In his own land he was part of his father's 10,000 men and the kingdoms of Aram could call upon armies of up to 500,000. The tribes that lived in Canaan were too small and disparate to come up with any force even big enough to defeat 1,000 giants. The local ruler could call upon 1,000 soldiers and if he used the men of the field then he had 10,000 but that was not enough against the Sons of the Fallen.

King Jashnak sent men to arrest Chelnuk and the others. He thought to assuage the giant army by delivering the giant killers to Tigrane before they decimated his land.
