Now Kendra was wary of the giant leader. He did not trust him so he whispered to his son, "Be on guard against him, if I should fail; if even I should win then you and the others will need to fight for your lives. If you get back to the holy place then my father's people will fight for you."
"I will stand by your side and fall with you if needs must."
"Do as I say Chelnuk, you must protect the men not me."
Nimen got to their position and so did Enoch a few seconds later. Looking at them Kendra said quietly, "Defend the rock."
"We stand with you," said Nimen.
Sternly Kendra made their position clear, "If I die then his men will kill you and the villagers. If you defend the rock then my father's people will be able to defend you and you will also save the villagers."
Chelnuk looked most upset, "I do not like this. You cannot fall, you must beat him."
Both Nimen and Enoch agreed to return and started to walk back to the rock just as the others were getting close to Kendra's position.
"Come, we are to defend the rock," Enoch told Disgast.
