Dining with them until the early evening he was afterwards comforted by his wife. She gave him more ointment and some food for the men then he travelled back to the rock. He had been gone three hours. In that time Loja had returned to the camp, he said he wanted to continue the fight against Seir, but had also revealed that Drogha and Finlan were only following him to kill the wounded giants that were left behind. Nimen had chased them off with a few well placed arrows.
The food was most welcome, “Your wife is a good cook,” grinned Chralane, pleased that he did not have to cook another meal before he left.
“We shall return to Beth El,” said the son of Thalen, “we will be safe there from the machinations of Seir.”
Looking at his face, to discern his mood, Chralane queried him, “Did you know it would be this dangerous giant hunting?”
Turning his head from side to side he replied, “The devil and his cohorts will always produce some depravity or outrage to shock those decent enough to stand against them. We need to thin their numbers or their descendants will be as numerous as the sand on the seashore.”
