For a little while Finlan looked at Kendra, “I have heard of you. You are a terror to the nations that surround your king,” his gaze was piercing, accusatory.
Looking back at him with a steely stare the champion said sombrely, “I have been guarding the kings of Aram for centuries. I only attack if we are attacked. I am a terror because I am good at what I do.”
“I have heard stories of your atrocities, killing babies and pregnant women.”
“It seems you have listened to the lies of my enemies. I have not killed babies or pregnant women, only the soldiers sent against my friends.” He felt uncomfortable because he did not know if Finlan believed him and didn’t know what he should say next.
Then Chelnuk spoke up, “I have been with my father this last ten years, in the king’s army, and I have only heard good things about my father, from the king’s court and also when I was in the Bosom.”
Proudly Kendra looked at his son. Then it was Finlan who looked as though he felt uncomfortable.
To break the uneasy tension in the camp Drogha told a joke then the mood became a little lighter.
