Joreld cut the rope and released the rocks too soon. They fell but only one rock hit the giant on the leg. He let out a scream and then started to scramble over the pile of rocks in his way. The farmer stabbed at him with his own spear and injured him. Baragar picked up a boulder to smash it at Joreld but as he lifted it high above his head the smaller man pierced his heart with the spear. "Father!" cried the giant as he fell upon the rocks, dead.

Joreld was looking at the body of Baragar as Kendra and the others came up.

"So, you are a giant killer," commented Kendra.

Joreld lifted the large spear towards the Nephilim, "Have you come to avenge him?"

"No, to congratulate you and ask you if you want to join us in slaying giants."

Joreld turned his lips down as he looked at the now still body of his foe, "I only did this for my sister. I do not want a life of killing giants."

"We could do with a man of your intelligence and courage."

"It is not for me. I will return with my sister to our farm and try to forget this."

The others let him pass. His sister and the other women came out to greet him.
