- okay but hear me out here
- punk rocker Joshua
- who has six piercings in his ears alone and likely a plethora of others in various places
- such as the barely visible hole in his bottom lip that rumours say holds a ring and the two slight indents in his right eyebrow
- whose hair is, completely against dress code, dyed a rich blood-red
- who was harassed — once
- who beat those poor idiots that picked a fight with him until they could barely move and then walked away like nothing happened
- who refuses to wear the uniform white button-up shirt, favouring instead a black tee with the sleeves ripped off and something nearly illegible scribbled on it in gold
- who despite all this has a dedicated group of girls that claim that he's really a good guy
- who listens to their flirting with a smirk pulling at his aggravatingly perfect lips and his tongue ever so slightly poking out at one corner
- pets the girls' heads and tells them "not right now, sweetie," and leaves
- who lives next door to you
- and plays his electric guitar at obscene hours
- and completely shatters any delusions you may have ever had about the fangirls' claims of him being a sweetheart underneath everything
- fed up, one day you pound on his door
- the guitar music stops, and Joshua opens the door a few seconds later
- "can I help you, sweetie?" he asks, and you have to try hard not to be distracted by his sweet, soft, musical voice
- "yeah, actually, I'd really like it if you cut out the guitar playing," you tell him. "Some of us are trying to study."
- Joshua lets one of his famous smirks play across his features as he observes you
- "sorry, princess, but I'm afraid I can't do that," he murmurs, and closes the door on you
- he resumes playing his guitar as you sputter indignantly
- now every time you hear his guitar playing you grit your teeth with rage
- and he??? acts completely ignorant and actually tries to get to know you and acts like you two are friends???
- when you're walking home one day, it starts thundering
- before you can get more than a little damp, however, a leather jacket is dropped on top of your head
- Joshua half smirks at you as he falls into step beside you, conspicuously missing his jacket
- "don't want you to get sick, do we?" he says softly
- he nods to the book clutched against your chest
- "besides, that's a good one. Don't ruin it."
- he escorts you to your house without another word and takes his jacket back, though it clearly won't help much
- "bye, sweetie," he says with a sly smile. "Study well."
- he leaves you there
- and a few minutes later you hear him blaring something out on his electric guitar
- he's not at school for the next few days, prompting many, many speculations on his whereabouts
- and you haven't heard him playing guitar which worries you a little more than it probably should
