- there are three types of sentient beings in the world
- humans, tieflings, and aasimar
- tieflings are the result of a few foolish humans making pacts with an ancient evil being, fiendish-looking creatures with long, sinuous tails and sweeping horns
- and aasimar have the blood of celestial beings
- you met one of the rare hybrids when you were very young, and hadn't yet been taught to treat hybrids as something to be feared and scorned
- so you quickly befriended this boy who had such bright eyes and soft, silky hair
- he seemed shocked that you approached him, but he trusted you quickly
- but when you returned a few days later, he was gone
- you never forgot him
- his big, bright eyes, a soft russet brown tinged with red undertones
- his hair, slightly blue-tinted black
- and the timid way he held your hand
- and then, years and years later, you had grown up
- you came from a famous noble family, and every single child of that family trained with the knights of the kingdom
- having finished your training, you return to your family's estate for a brief visit before going on to pursue your own dream
- there's an uninhabited area a long way away from your home that the king wants to colonise
- and you desperately want to help
- especially as you had heard some of the others in your training rooms talk animatedly about the safe space for tieflings, aasimar, and hybrids they wished to create
-some of your best friends were going, and you weren't going to let them go without you
- when you finally arrive you're disgusted by the state of the area
- there are a few slapdash structures here and there, but no progress seemed to have been made
- "what's going on here?" you ask the nearest person
- "nothing's come in for three months," he says, looking equally disgusted. "No stone, no money, no equipment, and no workers."
- you unbuckle your sword belt and lean it against a tree
- "well, then we'll have to do it ourselves."
- it's another four months until what will become a city starts taking shape
- and that's when he arrives
- tall, with long blue-black hair tied in a ponytail
- and sparkling russet eyes
- "my name is Yoon Jeonghan," he greets you, bowing slightly. "I'm here to help."
- "hey, you're a hybrid!" one of your friends exclaims
- Jeonghan shrinks back, looking ashamed
- "I..."
- the other man extends his hand
- "no big deal, Jeonghan. We're trying to make the first city where it's safe for everyone — tieflings, aasimar, hybrids, and humans — to roam free."
- Jeonghan smiles as he accepts the man's handshake
- "well, then I'm glad to be part of the effort."
