Chapter 17

(Eddies P.O.V)

We ran off into the woods as the huge horde went by. I didn't dare to look back to see if the guys were behind me but I'm pretty sure they are cause I can hear running. I ran until I couldn't run anymore and I fell on my knees, gasping for air. I looked behind me and James, Seamus and Jordan all were panting for air. Where the hell is Aleks!? I finally caught my breath and I started freaking out.

"Where is he!? Where is Aleks!?" I freaked out.

"Eddie, calm down. I'm sure he's fine, he's a smart kid. I'm sure he's waiting for us at the highway right now... we just have... I get back" James said and looked around at the woods that looked the same at every angle. Well fuck, how are we going to get back? I need my Aleks.

"We ran from this way, I think" Seamus said and pointed to a random direction. I heard my talkie go off.

"Eddie, are you ok?" I heard Aleks voice break through the microphone.

"Yes we're fine. We don't know how to get back to you" I said panicked but glad I could here his voice. Jordan snatched the walkie out of my hands.

"What direction is the sun facing now?" He asked.

"West" he answered.

"We should be there soon, over" Jordan said and pointed the way we should go. We followed him deeper into the woods hoping to get back before dark.

"Walkers ahead" Jordan said and told us to stop. I took two out with my cross bow and they got the other four. I'm surprised Jordan's stepping up, I would think his wife's death wouldn't settle in for awhile. He might not be showing it. It's not good to bottle up your emotions.

Soon the road came in sight and I felt relief wash over me, but it all disappeared when I seen a guy on a semi talking to Aleks. He seemed pretty buff. I don't even think I could take him. Maybe he's friendly but I guess I was wrong cause once he saw me I was held at gunpoint.
