Ian's Pov-

Nina and I walked into my parents house and went into the kitchen where my mom and dad were cooking lunch.

"Well I guess we'll have to cook lunch tomorrow babe." Nina laughed.

"Hey guys. How was last night? Did you enjoy yourselves?" My dad asked when he turned around.

"Yes tell us. How was it Nina? Dad was telling me about it while we ate last night." Mom said as she came around the counter and hugged us.

"It was so perfect. Everything about it was perfect." Nina told her as she smiled over at me.

"Yeah it definitely was." I winked at her.

"I wanna hear all about it over lunch. We set the table outside already. We figured you guys would be home around lunch time." Mom said.

"That works for us. Nina wanted to make you guys lunch and talk today anyways." Just as I finished my sentence my phone started ringing.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the screen. It was Mark. Hopefully he was calling with some good news.

"Hey Mark. Can you hold on for one second?" I asked after immediately answering.
I took the phone away from my ear when he said that wasn't a problem.

Nina and my parents were looking at me. And Nina had this look on her face of fear mixed with some nervousness and anxiousness.

"This is Mark, obviously, you guys go ahead and take lunch out and I'll be out as soon as we're done." I told them.

"Ok." My parents said at the same time.

I walked over to Nina and hugged her.

"I love you Nina. Always." I whispered in her ear. I needed to take away some of the anxiety she was surely feeling. I knew she was because I definitely was.

"I love you too Ian. It's gonna be ok." She whispered back.
I kissed her lightly and walked out of the kitchen. I went out in the front porch and looked into the house before closing the door.
I saw my mom giving Nina a hug and saying something and then saw Nina smiling. I could still see the same look on her face.
I closed the door as they were heading outside to the back patio with lunch.

"Hey Mark. What's up?" I said into the phone once I had shut the door.

"Hey Ian, do you have a minute to talk?" He asked.

"Yeah I do. What's up? Did we forget to sign something?" I asked as I sat down on the front steps. I could hear a weirdness in his voice. It was making me uneasy.

"No man. We didn't forget to sign anything. I had the papers processed when I left for you the other day. And they were delivered to Nikki's attorney and to her yesterday." He said.

"Ok. Well that's good news right? They got delivered, so now what? She signs and it's done?"

"Well it could be that easy. Like I said the other day, she signs we go to the mediator and they sign off them it'd be finalized. But I spoke with Nikki's lawyer today." He said and all I could think was "she's gonna fight it and everything's gonna come out in court."
