Ian's Pov-

Sitting by the lake, holding Nina's hand I had an uneasy feeling about what Mark was going to tell us.

I knew something was up. He had already called me about 9 times today. 4 times before 10 am. And he'd sent me numerous text telling me to call him. And that it was really important that he talked to me before he left the office at 6 pm.

With each ring I felt my heart beat faster and faster. If I was feeling like this I could only imagine how my love was feeling.

I hate myself for putting her through this craziness. And for the pain I know she's fought so hard to hide from me the last few days.
I swear when this is all said and done I'm going to make her and myself the happiest people on the planet.

"Ian I've been calling you all morning man." Mark said as soon as he answered the phone.

"I know. Sorry man. We had a long night. The whole family is here and we were up pretty late catching up. What's up?" I answered him, still holding on to Nina's hand.

"We need to talk. Is Nina with? Like close by?" He asked. I looked over at Nina and gave her a small smile. The nerves were kicking in for the both of us.

"Yeah, she's right next to me. What's up?" I asked. I'm sure I sounded weird to him but worried to Nina.

"Maybe you should put me on speaker phone Ian. I need to talk to both of you." He said. Nina let go of my hand causing me to look at her weird. She stood up and started moving her chair closer to me making me smile at her.

"You're already on speaker. What's up man?" I asked as Nina sat back down and grabbed my hand again.

"So I got a call from Nikki's lawyer this morning. I barely got to say anything to him before Nikki took the phone and started yelling and making demands and threats." He said. He took a deep breath and I could hear papers being shuffled.

"What kinda demands and threats?" Nina asked. Her brows were furrowed and her voice dripping with anger.

"The usual, I guess you could say. She was yelling that Ian needs to drop this and come home. That she wasn't signing the papers. And..." He trailed off.

"And what? What else did she say Mark?" I asked. My brow was now furrowed.

"Well she got the restraining order. And she wasn't happy about that. She said to remind you that you're married. You're her husband and a restraining order isn't going to keep her away. She also gave an ultimatum Ian. And from what her attorney said, she's serious about it. Really serious." He said. I knew she'd be mad about the restraining order. I also didn't care that she'd he mad about it. No after those texts she sent.

Nina was nervous. Her beautiful face instantly changed and worry was now written all over it. And my got an instant ache just knowing my love was anything other than happy and content.

"Well we figured she'd be pissed about it. She does realize that even though we're married for now that she can still be arrested for violating it right? And what's the ultimatum? Not that it matters." I said. A part of me knew it was gonna be some bullshit that was gonna ruin our day. And the other part of me was determined not to let that happen.
I promised Nina whatever he needed to tell us we'd get through together. And I meant it. I also meant what I told her father about doing whatever I needed to do to make sure his daughter was happy and felt my unconditional love at all times.
