{Betty's POV}

The sky was a beautiful lavender, slowly changing to a calm blue as the sun gradually rose. It's decent weather, a slight chill as it's moving into fall. Leafs are scattered over every edge of the road, blanketing the black street with yellows and oranges.

Walking along the familiar street, my hands in my pockets, I glance around. Every house that I've seen every day since I was a little girl. Very little changes have been made to my street. The houses standing tall, paint slightly chipping. I've walked these same streets for 20 some years, and yet, it doesn't feel like home anymore.

"Hey Betty!" I hear behind me. Turning on my heels, I see that red headed flop jogging towards me. I smile as he catches up to me, his hands in his varsity jacket pockets.

"Do you never not wear that jacket?" I asked with a chuckle.

"Hey! I earned this jacket!!" He exclaimed, acting offended.

"Yeah, two years ago Arch!!" He faked a frown before breaking out in laughter. "How's Veronica?" I ask.

Ever since sophomore year of high school, when Veronica showed up, her and Archie have been together. It makes sense. Archie Andrews, football player, popular, extremely good looking. Veronica Lodge, New York royalty, popular and beautiful beyond belief. They fit together perfectly. They're destined to be together.

"She's good! She'll be back in town in a few days. We should all go to Pops or something!" He smiles. His smile always caused me to laugh.

Archie has always held a very special place in my heart. We've been friends since he moved in next door when we were only 7.  We grew up together and naturally, I developed feelings. It happened in sophomore year, when I decided to tell him how I felt. Let's just say, he obviously didn't feel the same.

Once he got with Veronica, I was able to put my feelings aside and let them be happy. They truly love each other and that's all I want for my closest friends.

"Agreed! Just let me know, and I'm there" I smile. I've noticed I've lost my romantic feelings for Archie, seeing how happy he is with Veronica made me realize. We're not meant for each other. And that's okay! He's still my best friend. "Well, this is me" I say as I reach the Riverdale Body Shop.

"I'll walk you in, I want to buy a soda anyways" he smiles. As we walk in I notice a familiar Harley motorcycle in the detailing section. My heart rate quickens as I walk along side Archie towards my area. "I'll be right back" Archie smiles before walking towards the vending machine. As I smile back my eyes catch the familiar dark ones of 'Jones'. He's leaning against the front counter, arms crossed as he just stares at me. His eyes are dark, his hair tucked up in his crown beanie. He's wearing practically what he wore last time, though it's a red shirt this time. "Who's that?" Archie asks once he returns.

"Umm I really don't know" I shrug breaking away from his stare. "I worked on his bike a few days ago"

"Oh jeez, did Miss Perfect finally mess up on something!?" Archie jokes. I glare at him, punching his arm. "Well, I got to go. I'll see you later Bett's!" He smiles as he hugs me and walks away. As he does I notice Jones, still staring at me. I roll my eyes before heading behind the counter. The same one he's leaning on.

"Did someone already help you?" I ask, avoiding eye contact.

"Was that you're boyfriend?" He asks. I stop in my tracks. What?

   "What?"

"Is the cherry top your boyfriend?" He asks again. Arms still crossed, brows still furrowed.

"Does it matter?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Weirdly he doesn't break, and I'm sort of compelled to tell him. "Why do you want to know??"

"Can't a boy be curious?" He asks, trying to hide a small smirk. The fact he called himself a boy threw me off, because he's clearly a man. He's well built, not too much though. He's tall and carries himself well. "Well?"

Do I lie? Do I tell the truth?

"He is not" I sigh, looking into his eyes. His only response is a head nod and a smirk. He begins to stand straight, his eyes still on me.

"What did you say your name was?" He asks.

   "Betty. Betty Cooper" I say.

"Jughead Jones" he replies, holding his hand out. Without a second thought I give him my hand, as we exchange a shake. It lingers for a moment before Joaquin's presence causes us to release.

"Jug, your bike is ready. Oh, hey Betty!" He smiles. I smile back as he hands Jughead a receipt. "It looks great" Joaquin says.

"It better. You coming to the Worm tonight, right?" Jughead asks.

"Yep, I'll be there after my shift." Joaquin replies. I stand there awkwardly, not knowing what to do. "Betty, there's no more shifts today so you're free to go"

   "Really?" I ask.

"Yeah! Go girl, go do something fun!" He exclaims hitting me with his shoulder. I shrug. What will I do?

"Alright, well. Have a good night boys" I smiled, my eyes landing on Jugheads. He sends me a small nod and smile, following my moves.

As I grab my belongings, I feel his eyes. They follow me as I head towards the door. It's creepy, but at the same time, I like the way he looks at me. It sends my stomach in a whirl.

Once I reach the side of the building I set my stuff down and pull out my phone. I always spend my days at the Shop, I've never really had to deal with having a random day off.

Suddenly my ears are filled with the roar of a Harley Motorcycle. I look up to see Jughead coming to a stop in front of me.

"What are your plans Juliet?" He asks.

"My names Betty.." I trail off. He chuckles.

"I know, it's just a saying Betty. You know, like Romeo and Juliet?" He smiles. His smile is captivating, I can't help but smile back. "So, what are your plans for the day?"

"Currently nothing" I chuckle which, weirdly causes him to smile. Without saying a word, he hands me his extra helmet. "What's this for?"

"Climb on, you don't want to be bored all day do you?" He asks.

I stand there thinking, do I go home and read? Or do I climb on the back of this beautiful motorcycle, with a man I just met, and let him drive me wherever he wants?

   "Well?" He says.

So I climb on the back of Jughead Jones' motorcycle.
