{Jugheads POV}

"Elizabeth Cooper!?" An older lady yelled, causing Betty and I to jump apart. I turn to be faced with a tall blonde, probably in her lates 30s early 40s.

"Mom!?" Betty exclaims, jumping down from her counter. My eyes widen, I was under the impression only Betty lived here. "What are you doing here?"

"It's my house, Elizabeth. I'm aloud here whenever I please" she states.

"You're house!? You left this house years ago!! This is my house" She yells.

"Oh don't be so dramatic, Elizabeth." The woman, her mother, shrugs.

"Dramatic!? YOU AND POLLY LEFT ME HERE ALONE AFTER DAD DIED" she screamed.

"And come to my surprise, the moment I come back to my daughter I catch her screwing some scum on my kitchen counter!!"

"Excuse me?" I say, slightly stepping forward. Betty's places her hand on my chest forcing me to stop.

"Elizabeth, when did you become such a flusy?" Her mother asks.

That's it.

"Don't you dare call her that. I don't give a fuck that you're her mother, you have no right" I yelled.

"And who are you to talk? You're just a dumb kid from the wrong side of the tracks"

"That may be true. But I'm also a very bad person." I start, decreasing my distance from her. "You see, I run a gang. We're called the Southside Serpents. And Betty is a very important person to us. And we don't take well to anyone disrespecting our family"

Her eyes are locked on mine, fear coursing through her. I have to say, finding out your daughter is with a gang member is a huge shock. But coming home for the first time after years is also a shock.

"Elizabeth, is this true? You're apart of a gang now!?"

I look to Betty, tears are falling as she looks between me and her mother.

"Yes Mother. They are my family now" she says, entangling her hand with mine. She's shaking horribly, more tears falling as she looks at her mother.

"Get your things and get out. My name is still on this deed young lady. I don't want to see you here again!" She yells.

Without another word, Betty begins walking up the stairs. I follow her lead, ending up in a pale pink room. It's large, a desk and a full size bed. Clothes hung up nicely and random pictures strewn across the wall. I watch her closely as she pulls out a duffle bag and begins throwing clothes inside. Tears are streaming down her cheeks.

"Betty..." she doesn't answer. She throws open her closet door, creating a hole in the wall where the handle hit.

"I haven't seen her in almost three years Jug. Three fucking years!" She yells. Suddenly, she pick up a small lamp and threw against the wall opposite of us.

"Betty"

"And she thinks she has the right to come here and act like everything's normal!?" She screams throwing a glass figurine at the wall as well. I watch her, screaming and yelling as tears fall down her cheeks. This is the first girl I've ever cared about in this way, a way that I still can't figure out. And here she is. Hurting like never before. "What the fuck gives her the right!?"

"Betty" I say once more. She still smashing things, so I quickly but gently grab her wrists. "Betty, please.... you're going to hurt yourself" I say. She begins to fight against me, wanting free. Wanting to destroy what I can now see is her old life. But I don't let her go. I oil her into me, hugging her to my chest. She only fights for a moment more before finally letting all her tears fall. She goes limp, causing us to fall onto the floor. I pull her as close to me as possible, trying my hardest to comfort her. "I'm so sorry Juliet..." I whisper, pressing my lips to her forehead. "I will always be here for you, no matter what happens"

Her crying has lessened now as she leans up to wipe her swollen eyes. Her blue eyes are intense due to the tears and the redness.

"Can I stay with you..?" She asks. I can't help but chuckle slightly.

"Of course you can, Juliet." I smile. She forces a small smile and nod. As usual, I can't help but gaze at her. She's gonna through such a horrible time and yet, she's so beautiful. Her beauty captivates me. "Come on, let's grab your things" i say, standing to my feet. Holding out my hand to help her up, we begin packing her bag. As I help her, I keep a watchful eye on her. She's hurting and I don't know how to help her. I watch as she walks around her room, grabbing random things here and there. As I look around, I see a picture of her, Cherry top and Veronica. They're smiling, nearly laughing. She looks so happy.

"I'm ready Jug" she says. She has a duffle bag hanging from her shoulder along with another tote bag and purse.

"You sure you got everything?" I ask. She looks around slightly before nodding. I send a small smile her way before grabbing the duffle from her and following her down the stairs and out the door of what is now, once again, her mothers house.

I tie the duffle and her tote to the back of my motorcycle before handing her my helmet.

"Are you ready, Juliet?" I ask as I help her pull the helmet over her head. She nods with a small smile and nod. I smile and kiss her before we climb on the bike and drive away from her house.

No matter how much I hate it, I know what I have to do to attempt to make her happy.
