{Betty's POV}

Turning onto the same street I've lived on for 20 years, my heart rate quickens. Nothing has changed, the houses still stand tall, the paint slightly chipping. The trees, nearly naked as fall rolls in, stand tall on each property.

My house has yet to change, though I haven't kept up on the gardening like my mother used to. When she left, she left me the house. While it's still in her name, I pay for everything. The day she left, she told me that I'm an adult and need to care for myself.

I haven't spoken to her since.

"This is really nice" Jughead states, parking the motorcycle on the slanted driveway. "Does anyone love here with you?"

"Nope, just me" I sigh as I unlock the front door. As it swings open, I'm hit with the stale air of a house that has been unoccupied for days. "Do you want anything to drink?"

"No thank you, Juliet" he smiles. He begins walking around, looking at all the pictures on the wall. "Is this you?" He asks, picking up a photograph off the side table. It's a picture of me in my cheerleading uniform.

"Yup, that was my junior year" I state. Once Veronica came to Riverdale, she helped me achieve one of my dreams. I had always wanted to be a cheerleader, and she finally made it happen. I became a River Vixen my sophomore year.

"I didn't know you were a cheerleader in high school" he smirked, his eyes fixed on the photograph. I laughed snatching it from his grasp. "Hey!"

"I still have the uniform too" I smirked. His smile grew as he began to follow me to the kitchen. "So what all does becoming a Serpent entail?" I asked as I grabbed a water from the fridge. I leaned against the counter facing him, he stood there awkward.

"Well there's trials... a few different ones" he nearly whispered. "Betty... are you sure you want to do this? There are things in the trials..."

"I know about the dance Jughead" I interrupt. His eyes snap to mine. "Cheryl and Toni told me that women have to do a dance to become a Serpent"

"They told you that?" He asked, seeming confused. I only nodded. "Betty, I'm going to outlaw that dance"

"Toni said she's asked you to do that before, but you refused Jug..." he lowers his head, his eyes filling with sadness. "I understand..." I start as I begin walking over to him. "It's been a tradition since before you were born. And yes, it's very sexist and wrong... but I understand why you can't outlaw it" I say placing my hands on his cheeks, forcing him to look at me.

"Betty...."

"I want to Jug" I said. He just looked at me, reading everything in me. I couldn't tell what he was thinking, his dark eyes unreadable.

"Okay, Juliet. Okay" he smiled. Thought his smile was different, more forced. As I was about to say something, he gripped my waist, pulled me closer to him and smashed his lips against mine. Our lips moved together, my hands tangled in his hair as his slowly moved down below my butt. In one swift movement he picked me up and placed me on the counter. My legs wrapped around his waist, pulling him as close to me as possible.

His hands made their way below my shirt, holding tightly to my waist. We broke apart, his lips tracing over my neck. I couldn't get enough of him, his touch sent me in a frenzy. I needed him.

Only suddenly, we were interrupted by a voice I haven't heard in many years.

"Elizabeth Cooper!?"

My mom.
