Chapter Fourty Five

{Betty's POV}

   My heart stopped the moment Jughead opened that door. That head full of red hair, that blue and yellow letterman jacket.... Archie.

   The room fell silent as everyone's eyes snapped to Archie. He was standing in the doorway, his hands shoved in the large jacket pockets. The last time I saw him, I nearly died. Because of him.

   "What the hell are you doing here, Red?" FP asked appearing behind us. As I stared at Archie, who had yet to speak, I entangled my arm in Jugheads. He was as tense as he's ever been as he stared into Archie.

   "I........I came to apologize....." he muttered, his eyes wide snapping between us all. I turned to Veronica who was in Sweetpea's arms. She looked terrified as she held on to Sweetpea. "Veronica..... Betty.... I - I'm so sorry for what I did!!" He pleaded.

"I suggest you leave before anything happens, Cherry Top" Jughead threatened, stepping closer to him.

"Okay..... I just..... I need to know that you forgive me...." he pleaded more, his eyes connecting with mine. I noticed Jughead begin to step forward, clutching his hand.

"Archie..... I don't think you understand what you did" I blurted. As I placed my hands on Jugheads, he immediately backed down. "Veronica was beat, repeatedly! I...... I almost died because of you" I cried.

"Betty please...."

"No." I interrupted. "It's going to take a long time to even want to forgive you, Archie..." I sighed. "I think you need to leave. For good. Don't ever come back here..." I whispered. I had tears welling up in my eyes as I turned away from the boy who used to be my friend, the boy who, when I was young, was in love with. Now, when I see him, all I think of is almost dying.

"Leave." I hear Jughead demand as I wrap my arms around Veronica.

"I'm so sorry...." I cry as we stand there and hug.

"Betty.... it's okay!! It's not your fault he's a pathetic child!!" She assured, forcing me to look at her. "Look at us now!! We're happy!!! We're in love..." she said with a smile as she looked back at Sweetpea. "You're engaged and pregnant!! Betty, we made it" she smiled. I couldn't help but smile, knowing what she said was true. As I looked back at Jughead, who stood there with a smile on his face, my heart soared.

"Which reminds me..... Veronica.... will you be my Maid of Honor???" I asked with a smile on my face. Her eyes widened as her smile grew.

"Yes!!! Of course I will, Betty!!!" She squealed. I laughed at her excitement as I turned towards the others.

"Cheryl, Toni, Jellybean.... will you be my brides maids????" I smiled.

"Girl! I thought you'd never ask!!" Cheryl exclaimed.

"Of course we will" Toni smiled.

"Really?? You want me to be your brides maid???" Jellybean asked with confusion.

"Of course I do!! You're going to be my sister!!" I smiled engulfing her hands in mine. As tears came to her eyes, she nodded with a smile. I pulled her into a hug. I couldn't help but smile as we all stood there, happy as ever.

Thinking about my wedding, I have my bridesmaids and maid of honor; Veronica, Cheryl, Toni, Jellybean and of course Polly.

Jughead has his groomsmen and best man; Sweetpea, Fangs, Joaquin, Kevin and Jason (not Cheryl's brother)

Everything is falling into place.

Now, what to name our baby.
