{Jugheads POV}

The sound of pool balls clanging together filled my ears, my Serpents filled my eyes. The girls left nearly five hours ago and have yet to return.

The fact that Betty was out with both Cheryl and Toni, drinking, is a problem. Both girls know exactly the reason I brought Betty here, and I'm afraid they may tell her.

I brought her here to perform a dance. A sexist dance to prove that I'm the king.

   I am the king.

Only I screwed up the way my father did.

I can't say I'm in love with her, I've only known her a few days. But I know I can't lose her.

Just then, the bell rings. Toni and Cheryl emerging, no Betty in sight.

"Where's Betty?" I ask once I reach them.

"Her and Veronica got into it, she left awhile ago." Cheryl stated, as though it was no big deal.

"What!? Why the fuck would you let her leave alone!?" I whale. Now, eyes are turning towards us.

"Were not her babysitter Jones." Cheryl said.

"Shut it, Cheryl. Where did she go?" I demand. They both shrug, looking at me with confusion. As I push past them, I'm stopped.

"Jughead. You need to think long and hard on this one, okay?" Toni said. I knew exactly what she was meaning.

Was I ready to face the Serpents for falling for the target? Just like my father did?

As I reach my bike, I think of where she could be. Why would she walk alone at night? In this town!

   But then I remember.

***

Pulling up to the Auto body shop. I notice a light on inside. When I go to pull the should be locked door, it opens. Being almost 2 am, its quiet. But not silent.

As I reach the main workshop, I see her beautiful blonde hair, up in a ponytail once again. She's barefoot, her heels thrown off to the side. She's leaning over an old Chavelle, trying to make it run again.

"Hey there, Juliet" I say. She jumps slightly, turning around to face me.

"Jug, hey. What are you doing here??" She asks, putting down the crescent wrench.

"They told me you left alone... I had to make sure you were okay..." I trailed off. When the hell did I become so soft? "I figured you'd be here" she smiles as she increasingly becomes closer.

"I just really needed some air" she smiled.

"Betty.... I know you're independent and strong... but please don't wander off alone again... I couldn't help but think what might have happened to you" her eyes meet mine, she's on the verge of tears. "I need you safe Betty Cooper..."

"Jug....." she trails off. I just look at her. She's the most beautiful woman, the type of beauty I don't want to let go. Suddenly, her lips are pressed to mine, her hands finding their way to my hair. My hands drop to her waist, pulling her into me.

I never want this to stop. This is all I want.

   Betty Cooper.

She pulls away slightly, our breathing hard.

"I want to Jug.." I'm confused. "I want to become a Serpent"

My eyes widen. She wants to become one of us. Confusion, fear and happiness flow through me all at once.

"I want to be apart of you world"

"Betty... are you sure about this?" I ask. At this very moment, the only thing I want is for her to be apart of this world, standing by my side. But I know what become one of us entails.

The dance.

The same dance I brought her here in the first place for.

"Yes Jughead. I want to become a Southside Serpent"
